*Later that day*
There is a knock on my bedroom door.
???: Can I come in?
Me: I guess you may.
The door opens and in walks my oldest brother - Hayden.
Hayden is 18 and is my half brother. He has dark brown curly hair and is mixed race. We have the same dad - just different mums.
Hayden: Hey, Jason told me what happened. Are you okay?
Me: I'm fine, I'd rather not talk about it.
Hayden: And I completely understand that, I just wanted to see if you were okay.
I look up a Hayden and smile.
Me: That's kind of you.
Hayden: Well, you are my little sister. It's my duty to check up on you.
Me: Well Hayden, I'm doing good, just kind of stressing.
Hayden cocks his head to one side.
Hayden: Why's that?
I sigh and roll my eyes.
Me: Grace and Noah are making me go to a house party tomorrow.
Hayden sits down next to me on my bed.
Hayden: What's wrong about that?
Me: I don't know if I want to face a party right now. Grace thinks it'd be better than sitting in my room eating ice cream and watching Netflix. If you ask me, that's the best kind of party.
Hayden: But maybe they have a point.
I groan.
Me: Not you too!
Hayden: No seriously, a night out with your two best mates is better than moping in your room. Whose party is it?
Me: One of Noahs mates, Jaeden.
Hayden: Have you met him before?
Me: Nope but according to Grace, he's 'good looking'.
Hayden: Well there you go! You'll be fine surrounded by fit lads.
Me: Ugh please. I am so done with lads.
Hayden: Somehow I find that hard to believe.
Hayden stands up
Hayden: Just go and enjoy yourself. You deserve it.
Me: Thanks Hayden, I guess I'll try too.
Hayden walks to the door.
Hayden: Mum will be back in an hour. She's asked me to order in. Your usual?
I grin
Me: You know it.
Hayden grins back and turns to leave
Me: Oh, Hayden?
Hayden stops and looks at me
Hayden: Yeah?
Me: What exactly did Jason tell you?
Hayden: Oh, just that the prick had the nerve to cheat on you. Why? Was there more to it?
I absolutely cannot tell Hayden about the rest. He would defiantly go to the police.
Me: No, not really. Just that he was cheating on me with his ex.
