(Mayumi's POV)
I opened the door to see a very unexpected face on the other side. Yumiko Sato, an heiress that we had previously guarded was standing in my doorway with a gentle smile on her face.
"Yumiko? What are you doing here?" I questioned her. She was from the Village Hidden in the Rain, which was many miles away from the Leaf Village. She looked around my shoulder and smiled wider when she realized that Kakashi was in the room with me.
"Hey, I had a meeting with Lord Hokage about trading between the Rain and Leaf village. He had said you two would be here when I asked about Kakashi." Yumiko explained, causing my eyes to roll like tumbleweeds in the desert.
"Why were you looking for me?" Kakashi curiously asked, his curiosity only making my annoyance grow.
"Well, I wanted to see you." She smiled as I sighed.
"Well Yumiko, were kind of in the middle of something important." I retorted. Yumiko looked at me, her eyes practically challenging me. I took a step towards her, the tension in the air only building. Kakashi took a step between us, causing me to scoff.
"Mayumi, now is not the time. Yumiko, I appreciate you coming to see me but as Mayumi said before, we're extremely busy at the moment." Kakashi explained calmly. Yumiko glanced over at me and then to Kakashi.
"I heard about that actually. I wanted to see if I could help you." Yumiko explained as I raised my eyebrow and chuckled.
"And how could you help us, Yumiko?" I questioned. Obviously since we were once her body guards it's safe to say that she is incapable of protecting herself. Yumiko brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear and smirked.
"Well, I have some information that may help you out. But, since it seems as though Mayumi has no interest in hearing me out I guess I'll be taking my leave then." Yumiko stated as she turned and began walking towards the door. I groaned and reached past Kakashi, grabbing Yumiko by her wrist.
"Wait...I may not like you but, I'll take any help I can get in this situation." I reluctantly spoke. Every fiber of my being wanted to punch Yumiko straight in that annoying face of her's but, I knew I was in no position to be picky. Yumiko looked over her shoulder, her violet eyes gleaming in the victory she just got.
"Well, Your father invited me to your clan's estate for a meeting. I figured I could do some snooping if possible." She explained as Kakashi rubbed his chin for a moment as he thought to himself.
"Yumiko...Tell Lord Hokage you would like to have a member of the Anbu Black Ops guard you during your time here in the Leaf Village. I'll assign myself the mission, and make sure I wear someone else's Anbu mask. While I'm in the meeting with Yumiko, Mayumi use that time to snoop and see if you can find anything that will help us out." Kakashi instructed as I nodded.
"Please be careful, both of you. My family has a few very skilled and highly trained assassins that guard the main branch. My two guards will most likely be with my father. They are twins, Yui and Yuko. Yui, the youngest of the two, is highly skilled in the art of mind control. Unlike Yuko, Yui tends to be more timid. Yuko, the oldest twin, is a master swordswoman. She is vicious and cruel." I warned them as they both nodded.
"We will be okay. When is your meeting Yumiko?" Kakashi questioned. Yumiko turned to face Kakashi, her violet eyes studying his every detail.
"My meeting is in two days. I had already informed Lord Kaneko that I would have ninja of my own escorting me to the meeting." Yumiko explained as both Kakashi and I nodded.
"Alright.. Two days then..." I muttered, an overwhelming feeling suddenly began making me feel extremely nauseous. I took a deep breath and looked back at Kakashi, who's deep onyx eyes were stuck on me like glue. I knew there had to be something I could find amongst my fathers quarters, but I just didn't know what exactly I would find. Yumiko headed for the door, stopping a few inches away from it as she turned back around and smiled at the both of us.
"I'm so glad we are able to all get back together again. Feels like were a group of superhero's or something." Yumiko giggled, causing Kakashi to smile, and for my eyes to roll yet again. This girl was so naïve and I knew that if she kept up with that mentality she would only end up becoming a problem for the rest of us. Yumiko turned again and headed out of the room. She turned and smiled gently before leaving Kakashi and I alone again.
"So.." I muttered, my heart almost skipping a beat when I realized Kakashi was smiling at me.
"So, you seemed to do pretty well with Yumiko this time." He spoke, his voice almost teasing me. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Whatever, she's still pretty annoying..." I muttered, making sure to hide my true feelings the best I could. Kakashi walked over to me and placed his hand on top of my head. His gentle fingertips slowly caressing my hair. A peaceful sigh escaped my lips without permission as I blushed deeply.
"Everything will work out Mayumi, you just gotta have some faith." Kakashi explained as I groaned and slowly nodded.
"I know, I know..." I mumbled as Kakashi pulled his hand off of the top of my head. He walked over to the door and placed his slender hand on the door handle.
"I'll make sure everyone on the team is up to date with the plan. You train and prepare for this mission as well, okay?" He instructed as I reluctantly nodded.
"Yes Sir..." I stated as Kakashi smiled and left the room, leaving me alone with that overwhelming feeling of anxiety slowly eating me alive.
