Chapter 13: Saloni

All of our suits brought out our skin tones and eyes when we added makeup.

"I feel extremely overdressed for a dinner," I told the girls as we got ready in the twins' room. "I honestly don't even feel like going anymore."

I wanted to get away from everyone. My conversation with Jash earlier had hurt me for some reason. I wasn't going to see him again. Actually, I'd see him as Saloni's boyfriend if I were to see him again. Neither situation appealed much to me.

First, I hated him for being my bully, now, I hated him for making a place in my heart.

"No, too late to cancel now," Saloni said shushing me.

By six o'clock, we were ready to go and feed our rumbling stomachs. We had to return early because the twins and Eric had to leave for Delhi early morning.

We met the boys in the hallway with smiling faces.

They didn't disappoint although we had kept our expectations low.

Rushil wore a white pajama and a full sleeved black kurta with six buttons running down on the side of his chest. The kurta had a diagonal cut on the bottom for design. Rushil's hair was set sideways to go with the buttons and he looked dashing.

Eric dressed in something similar with two sets of buttons running down his chest in a dark green color. His black hair tied in the ponytail went along well.

Jash opted for a simple full sleeved deep purple that almost looked black kurta pajama. His dark hair was gelled. I could see why the aunty at the Golden Temple wanted her daughter married to him. My brain told me one of the aunties thought he was my husband.

I tried not to dwell on the thought. It made me feel guilty.

"We have to take photos!" Emma exclaimed loudly.

We spent an hour taking photos with each other in singles, duos, and so on. Rushil and I took a photo with our backs to each other as a tribute to our breakup.

Jash photobombed it by jumping in the frame in front of me. He leaned in close to my ear and stage whispered in a girly tone, "Rushil is mine! You can't steal him from me."

His voice and statement made me burst out laughing.

I forgot the twins were taking photos.

"This is epic!" Chynna shrieked when I ran to her to see the photo.

It looked like Jash and I were a happy couple while Rushil stood looking over his shoulder at me with envy.

"It's like a Kdrama poster," Eric noted.

"The subtitle would be, 'Who will Fiza choose: her former lover or her former bully?'" Rushil added with a chuckle.
