Chapter 7: Men Aren't The Best Communicators

Jash and I arrived at the last station—Kufri—five hours after our friends. They had already checked into the hotel and waited for us in the lobby.

When we arrived, I was engulfed by hugs from the twins first, then Eric followed by Saloni.

"That was scary as hell," Emma said with wide eyes.

"We can't believe what happened!" Chynna added.

"Trouble trouble trouble," Rushil said and wrapped his arms around me when Saloni was done hugging me. Maybe the attempted robbery was a fortunate experience. "You didn't get hurt, did you?"

"No," I said enjoying his arms around me.

"Where's my hug? Why's no one concerned about me?" Jash complained loudly.

Rushil let go making me want to kill Jash for saying anything.

"Come to oppa," Eric said opening his arms wide for Jash who ran in the opposite direction.

We laughed at their bromance.

"I'm glad Jash stepped off the train in time or you would've been by yourself," Saloni said. "Thank god, nothing happened."

"They stole my mom's chain," I told her. "I don't know how I'm gonna explain that because it was given to her by my grandma and down to me."

I never held any value to it but I knew my parents did.

"Tell your mom you had to wrestle a bear and it stole the chain thinking it was honey," Jash suggested when he was done hugging Eric.

"Totally makes sense," Saloni said rolling her eyes. I wiggled my eyebrows at Jash at Saloni giving him attention. He pretended not to notice.

We headed to our rooms and rested for a bit before going out for dinner. It had started to snow which excited the twins the most. We had to wait outside the restaurant for them to first finish trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues and palms.

"This makes me miss the east coast," said Chynna as she tried to catch the flurries on her palm.

"Snow is the only reason I'd move back to PA from L.A.," said her twin.

"Forget that," Eric butted in. "We are going skiing tomorrow!"

We headed inside the golden Bollywood themed restaurant and got placed at the largest table.

"That was the plan, but we'll have to change it," Saloni said with a solemn expression. "Both Rushil and Jash have fresh wounds and we can't risk them getting hurt. It's not fair for them to stay back in the hotel while we go out. Jash has done that already when we went clubbing."

"True," Jash agreed. "But Saloni, I wasn't alone that night. I refuse to watch Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham with Rushil. I don't think he'd look as pretty crying as Fiza."

Was he trying to use me to make Saloni jealous? I was wondering why he wasn't making a move on her. Calling me pretty in front of her would help, I supposed. Did he actually find me pretty?

No, stop thinking!

"You made her cry in my absence?" Rushil asked  jokingly.

Aw, he cares.

"No, that'd be your area of expertise," Jash told him with a smiling face, though his eyes had a challenging look in them.

I had no idea where that came from and it shocked us all including Rushil. The twins pressed their lips as if waiting for the volcano to erupt. I wished the earth would split open and swallow me. So much for thinking he was making Saloni jealous.
