11 - Dinner Date

Chapter 11

"Yes Okay Lizzie! I'll Call You When I Get Back Home And Tell You Everything That Happened Ok?!"

"Make sure you do!!" She said before cutting off

The rest of the week went by very quickly which was a good thing. It was finally Saturday which meant my date with Damien. Darnell still wasn't happy about it but i don't care ..If he's not gonna tell me then ...i don't really see the problem. I was meeting Damien at 7, and it was a few minutes to 6. I did tell dee that i would go and see him quickly before going with Damien. I finished applying my makeup and put my contacts in, instead of my glasses. I wore a simple but very nice plain black dress with my flats.

When i was done, I crossed the road and walked to his house. I took my keys out but realised that the door was already half open ..Weird. I stopped when i heard shouting coming from inside.

"DARNELL KYLE SEBASTIAN MATTHEWS DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK TO ME IN THAT MANNER!" A voice said ...A Familiar Voice..

"NO MUM! DON'T FLIPPING TELL ME WHAT TO DO! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS! YOU'RE NO USE AT ALL ..ALL YOU DO IS SLEEP AROUND WITH DIFFERENT MAN ..YOU'RE A WHORE-"

I walked in and walked towards the kitchen opening the door right at the moment when his mum had slapped him across the face. His eyes were a deep dark colour ..he was angry ...Very Angry. There were broken plates and glasses on the floor.. I watched as he slowly walked towards her ..

"DARNELL NO!" I stepped in front of him scared of what he was gonna do ...

"Cassie Move" He said ever so calmly..

"Dee, please look just go upstairs and calm down, i'll sort this out" I said

"Just Make Sure This TRAMP Is Out My Yard" He kissed his teeth and slammed the door

I was sooo shocked as to what just happened. Charlene, Dee's mum burst out crying, i ran to her side and began to comfort her.

"I've failed as a mother! Ahh" She sobbed

"Don't Say That Auntie, You've done all you can!"

"How can you say that when my own son hates me!" She continued

I got up and began to clean the mess. Darnell had never really gotten along with his mum, ever since his dad had left. His mum would always leave for days leaving him to have to provide for himself. Then he found out that she would sleep around with men for money and he wasn't happy about that. She would often come back home late at night drunk not caring about anybody else...

About 10 minutes later she had grabbed her coat and a few of her clothes.

"Wait, have you got any where to stay?" I asked her

"Yeaah, i know a few people..Thanks darling" I nodded and cleared the equipment away. "Cassie.." She called

"Yeah?"

"Darnell is really happy to have you hunnie, i hope you know that" She said

She embraced me in hug before walking out of the door...I went upstairs to go and check on dee. I opened the door and he was sitting on his bed with his head in his hands.

"Dee, are you ok?" I asked sitting next to him. He nodded and sighed. His eyes were slowly turning back to it's normal colour indicating he was calmer. I wrapped my arms around him and rested my head on his shoulders.

"I can't believe her you know..." He said  laying down. I lay on his chest as i listened to him.

"After about a month she wants to come walking in the yard like say she owns the place and thinks i won't switch? Kmt"
