19 - Work

Chapter 19

A Month Later

"DARNELL! HAVE YOU SEEN MY JORDANS?" I yelled to darnell who was in another room

"WHICH ONES?"

"MY BLACK GREY AND RED ONES!"

"CHECK IN MY ROOM!" He yelled

I ran to his room and threw on my jordans. Today was the first day of our work experience. We had to work for 2 weeks. I managed to get work in JD Sports and luckily ..so did Lizzie! So im glad i'd have someone with me..Darnell managed to get work in Footlocker across the road from us which is quite good as well ..and coincidently Cashel was working with him. I started work at 9 whilst darnell started at 9:30 ..since it was 8:30 he didn't have to worry about being late..

"I'll see you later dee!" I said giving him a kiss on the lips and rushing out.

Eventually i got on a bus as soon as i reached the busstop. I only needed one bus to get there so it was all good.

Lizzie is finally in a relationship with Michael and to be honest i think that they are the cutest couple i have ever met. Liz is much more bubbly and she's constantly smiling. Darnell on the other hand ..im confused as to what his relationship status is. One day he's with Leila the next he's not ..Then i see him with a couple of other girls and then he's with Leila again! It's quite obvious that she doesn't like me. Whenever im around she screws and gives me attitude. But like the good and kind person I am I ignore it. I know she makes darnell happy- sometimes ..i don't want him getting upset...

Before i knew it i had reached the busy side of our area we call 'central'. I got off and spotted Liz at the busstop. I power walked up to her and gave her a big hug. We had about 20 minutes left till the store opened...

"Should we go and grab some mcdonalds brekkie?" I asked Liz

"Im right behind you girl!"

15 Minutes Later we walked out of mcdonalds. I accidently bumped into someone on the way out...

"Oh sorry!" I said

"It's kool.." A guy said before showing his pearly white teeth and winking..I continued to walk out stunned..

"He was a hoottieee! Did you see the way he was staring at you Cass?" Liz squealed

"Yea- ..bu- ..he was-" I stuttered ..he was truly beautiful!

I couldn't help but remember his honey brown coloured skin and his hazel/greenish eyes ..i have nooooo idea how that could be possible ..but it was..

"Ayee girl! C'mon focus ..we've got work to attend to" Liz said snapping em out of my thoughts.

"So, today and for the next couple of days you will be coming here to the stock room if a customer needs certain trainers in certain sizes. We've gone through all the rules and expectations from you guys, if you guys need any help, then you know where i am. Right now, all i need for you guys to do at this very moment in time is stock these trainers up. One of the staff will be with you shortly" Our boss said giving us a couple of boxes..

"Ok sir" I said

He smiled and walked out leaving me and liz in the stock room. We began to stock the boxes in order.
