I woke up with a start, sadly, not realizing that I was floating while I was asleep. I was almost gonna hit the ceiling, when I lost concentration and fell hard with a bump. "OW!!!!" I cried, involuntarily. But I didn't get up. I was trying to remember what I had seen in my dream, but it had come and gone like the wind. Then the door burst open and the twins came in, panicking. "What happened?" asked Greg, out of breath. "Why did you scream?" asked Nate, he too out of breath. "Oh nothing. I just lost my balance in air." I said, got up and patted myself off. Still bewildered after an hour of freshening up, I went down for breakfast. The twins were already done with theirs, and were sitting on the couch.
"Where's Leo?" I asked, munching on a apple. Greg turned to me with a smirk. "Why? Miss him?" he asked. "N-no. Why should I?" I said and blushed. Just then, the door opened and Leo came running in, panting. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "Something's wrong. I met Grace a few minutes back. Do you know what she told me?" he asked, coming into the kitchen to drink water. "What?" the three of us asked together. "She congratulated me." he said, and drank water, without continuing. "Why?" I asked him. "Cuz we are selected for some interschool competition!" he said. "But we didn't enter for it! And if it's the same competition that is held every year after Christmas, no-one is selected unless they entered for it!" said Greg angrily, throwing his hand in the air, causing all the lightweight things to fly in different directions. "GREG!!" we shouted as papers showered on us. "Sorry." he said. With another swoosh of the air, he put back all the things back in their places.
"Well, who entered us into the competition then?" We were sitting in the meeting room in a circle, questioning the possibilities. "We wouldn't enter by ourselves. That means...someone entered for us." I said at last. "You mean, someone wants us to be in the competition?" asked Nate, sitting back. "Yeah, like a trap." said Greg, getting up. "A trap? For what?" we asked. "For some reason, this has Black Fox written all over it. Like he wanted us to be in a particular place on a particular day." I said. "Okay, but he couldn't have been able to enter us by himself, unless..." said Leo. "Unless, someone is working for him from the inside..." I said.
"Okay, so who is selected for what?" asked Nate. "Grace sent me the file. Let me check." said Leo and took out his phone. "KC and I are for dance, Greg is for the science fair competition thing, Nate's for his favourite thing in the whole world: shooting." and at that second, Nate jumped into the air, almost shaking the house off its foundation. "You NEED to stop doing that!!" I said, as I shot into the air, preferring to fly rather than tumble. "Sorry, it's been a while for me." he smiled sheepishly. "So we going out tonight?" asked Greg. I nod.
"We need to snoop around a bit."
