Chapter 49

"Uh why did you turn off the lights?" Amaya asked me from the corner of the room where she was standing. "Just wait for it." I said. I took a deep breath and concentrated hard on the phoenix inside. I raised my hands to my side and felt warmth all over my body. I opened my eyes and with a burst of light, I was on fire. "You look so frikin amazing! AHHHHHH!" she said to take a closer look at me. "Come on! Let's get your make up done!" she said and I let the fire die down. "Make up? Do I have to?" I groaned. "Girl, i promise you'll look great!" she said. I let her do my make up, and when I went out the door, it was around 5:45. Reina was waiting for us in her own emerald green dress on the couch. "Aww kids you look beautiful!" said Reina. "You look amazing yourself Reina!" I said and went forward to take a better look at the designs on the skirt. "Oh thank you honey! I went down a while back, and I must say, the hall looks spectacular!"  she said and we started walking to the elevator after locking the door behind us. "Thank you Reina!" said Amaya. 

As we went to the glass building, many and i mean many people were walking in. It was starting to get a little dark , so they had turned on the lights of the Christmas tree. "You kids go ahead! I'm going to talk to some of my friends!" she said, waved at us and went in another direction. A rustle of breeze brushed close to my face, whispering in my ear. "Gale!" I said and lifted my hand. The small leaves and cool wind brushed over my arm. "The twins must be here." I said. But when I looked to my right where Amaya originally was, wasn't there. "Hey did you see Amaya, Gale?" I asked the wind which was now circling me as I walked. "No? Where did she go??" I said, and I saw my watch ping with a text. "Attention! Incoming text from Amaya." said Lexi. "Hey, I found something really interesting! I'm gonna check it out! You keep going! Call me if you need me!" it said. 

I entered the building and it was already filled with hundreds of people. But in the crowd, I found the familiar red and green hair. "Greg! Nate!" I shouted and made my way to them, Gale swirling around me. As I reached them, Gale surrounded the twins at the same time and then disappeared. "You look gorgeous!" said Nate. "Thanks guys! You don't look bad yourselves!" I said. "Pity you couldn't actually light yourself on fire right now!" said Greg, shook his head and went off as we laughed. Nate too went in another direction. I decided to try out some of the cake that was kept on a table. As I went towards it, I saw Everly and her gang in a white dress. "Freak!" I heard her whisper. Ignoring them, I took a slice and turned to the table to eat. "Ohmigod! You look so good!" I heard a squeak from behind me. I turned back and I saw him.
