Y/N was sitting on her bed, looking out the window with worries looming in her mind, not only because her boyfriend did not come home even when it was night, but because of the little being that was forming inside her for a few months. She was having a cup of tea to calm down but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't.
"Enough, I'm going to take some fresh air," she said, getting up, putting on her shoes and opening the door of the house without forgetting the keys.

She remembered the words and the reaction Thorin had when she told him they were expecting a child and, of course, she noticed that he didn't like the news very much. Children were apparently not his strong suit.

The woman walked to a place that she used to frequent for a long time. She used it to relax and get out of trouble for a while. It was a lake that was located near her house. There were no people, fortunately, so she was able to get close to the shore to cool off. She could see the white light of the moon reflected on the water, a scene that mesmerizes with its charm, as well as small boats stranded in the distance.

Y/N walked among the small stones that made up the shore and she was getting closer to the moving water. She was wearing a translucent white dress that fell to her ankles and moved in the light breeze. The woman was illuminated by the light of the full moon and her hair at that time was loose, the breeze also took care of moving it slightly. She looked at the horizon with serenity on her face and was slowly entering the lake, submerging her feet. It was summer and the atmosphere was warm that night.

Y/n had been carrying her mobile all the time, looking at the photos she had on Pinterest and, inadvertently, she dropped it into the water.

"Damn..." she complained. Once she picked it up, she tried to dry it with the skirt of her dress. It was at that moment that she heard the sound of something moving in the water behind her and once she got up, two arms wrapped around her and she felt a heat on her back, which made her scared at times. Then the young woman saw black locks caressing her face and two hands resting on her small pregnant belly.

"Did you miss me, princess?" she heard in her ear in a whisper. Her skin crawled. It was then that she felt small kisses on her right shoulder and the warm breath of the one who was hugging her.

"Thorin... Don't give me these scares again," Y/N said.

"I promise," he replied with a mischievous laugh.

"Where were you? You had me worried..."

"I was attending some business with Dwalin, but we have already finished them. Now I am free."

She blushed and felt butterflies inside her. Y/N looked fearfully at her belly, now covered by Thorin's hands.

"It's growing a lot, darling," she said, taking her boyfriend's hands.

"I see it, honey," Thorin replied.

Y/N was surprised at the unusual sweetness in Thorin's voice.

He immediately began to kiss his girlfriend on her right shoulder again and she could not help but breathe hard and costly. She closed her eyes and was carried away by the moment. It was then that Thorin lifted her off the ground, without warning, and began to turn with her, making the woman's legs fly. Thanks to the water, Thorin almost lost his balance. Y/N was scared again when she saw that they almost fell after laughing, but Thorin, for once in a long time, kept laughing, and that made her smile.

Once Thorin left her again on the ground, Y/N turned around and began to admire his blue eyes, shining at that moment from the reflection of the moonlight. Y/N then caressed his cheek and she smiled again, bringing both foreheads together.

"The night today is beautiful but... Why did you come to the lake today? Something's wrong?" Thorin asked.

"It's nothing..."

Thorin arched an eyebrow as a sign that he didn't believe neither of those words.

"I was worried about what will happen once our child arrives..."she said at last, with a slightly worried face.

"I see..."

He started to go down and squatted down. He caressed his girlfriend's belly once again and gave a kiss on it.

"I'm sure everything will be fine," Thorin added. Seeing him so affectionate, Y/N couldn't help but get emotional and a tear came to her eyes. It seemed that in the end he had accepted things and it would not be as hard as he used to. She was afraid that their child might not receive the paternal affection she/he deserves.

When Thorin got up, he took his girlfriend by the hips, hugging her back, and kissed her tenderly on the lips.

"I know I didn't act the way I should have when you told me about the baby... But after I had discussed it with Dwalin, I thought it better. He supports us with our child, and I think we will be good parents," Thorin added with a smile. Y/N smiled excitedly and decided to hug him tightly. He decided to seize the moment and began to carry her into the lake, the water almost reaching up to both chests.

The moonlight reflected off the water was just illuminating both figures and neither of both stopped staring into each other's eyes intently. After a few minutes full of love flooding their hearts, Thorin decided to tilt his head to bring both lips together gently. Little by little the two began to increase the intensity of the kiss, each time it was more passionate, more lasting, to the point that almost thoughts that were not supposed to appear at that moment managed to sneak into their minds. But this was not the time. Thorin still could not resist kissing the woman's neck with great delicacy to show her everything he felt at that moment and, after a few more minutes, Thorin decided to move away to look into her eyes with desire.

Thorin smiled followed by her.

"Let's go home, I have to water the garden or else my father will scold me..." she said, somewhat annoyed at having to break the moment.

"It's okay. I'll help you make dinner," he replied.

They came out of the water holding hands and headed home again, Y/N had managed to calm down in the end. Just before they got home they saw Y/N's brother/sister walking in. Apparently they were not going to have any more time alone and quiet.

"Does your brother/sister know that we are expecting a child?" Thorin asked.

"No, not even my parents... I don't know how they will take it... But their reaction scares me... We are young..."

"Easy, leave it to me," he said, squeezing her hand tightly.

And the couple entered the house to attend to their chores, receiving Y/N's brother/sister.
