𝓢UNDAY 𝓝OVEMBER 𝓔IGHTH
The next night, Kat and I watched out the window as we flew over the ocean in the direction of Astalilia. Neither of us could sleep last night, due to nerves. However, sleeping on a plane, not comfortable for Kat and I. The two of us essentially had to sneak out of the loft. Aunt Mona had been giving me the silent treatment since I made the decision to play along with Dominick's proposition. We did not even say goodbye to one another. She was packing to go to California, and I was packing to come to Astalilia.
I genuinely could not believe that she did not say goodbye to me.
Dominick was reading a book. His two guards were sitting close by him. The two of them sat looking down at their phones. These were middle aged men, so I assumed they were contacting their wives in order to let them know that they will be returning to Astalilia soon.
I got up from my seat and went to take a seat across from Dominick. We were sitting in a private plane that rich people take from one corner of the country to the other - just because they got bored on a Tuesday night.
"I know you weren't born yet kid, but is there anything you know about my mother and father?" I asked. I was desperate.
The only memories I have of my mother, had to be told to me from a third person narrator, because I was too young to remember most of it. Plus, she never mentioned my father. Ever.
"Father once told me the story of how he met her. It is a beautiful story. Father was riding a new horse through the meadows on the outskirts of our palace, and he was thrown from his horse. Your mother found him injured and brought him to the cottage she was living in; she tended to his wounds and when he was stable enough to move, the two of them went to search for his horse. Your mother had the power to communicate with animals. She was able to track the horse, and the two of them spent five days together finding the horse and returning to the palace," Dominick said.
My - our - father told him all about my mother. I assumed that he would have kept his dead ex-wife a secret from everyone. However, since their marriage was a secret, she was never introduced to the kingdom as their Queen.
