All hope had been lost. We were all exhausted. None of us were able to defeat Jackal. Between all of us combined, none of us were a match for Jackal. The man has not even broken a sweat. The five of us were prepared for battle, but Jackal was prepared for a bloodbath.

I felt like giving up.

Throwing in the towel. Waving the white flag of surrender.

Fatigue and pain set into my muscles. Aching body parts. Lifting my sword shot pain through my body.

I could never begin to tell that to my friends. They all looked to me to save the day, but I have absolutely no idea how to say that day. No idea.

We had no time for giving up.

With a limited amount of time, we needed to do something drastic to get Jackal into the waterfall. If the sun starts coming up, then all five of us could be dead by the time the sun rises.

I quickly tightened the ponytail in my hair.

Gabe used his hands to create a long patch of ice on the ground. At the same time, Seraphina was blowing small blasts of fire in order to keep Jackal along the line. It causes Jackal to back up closer to the waterfall. Gabe slid across the patch of ice, and had the tip of his sword out; his positioning was to try and impale Jackal with his sword.

Jackal grabbed a hold of Gabe's arm and spun him around. Jackal held Gabe's own sword up to Gabe's neck. Gabe tried gripping onto Jackal's forearm in order to pry the sword away from his neck.

"Anyone takes one step and I cut him open," Jackal said, with a low adverb.

"Kill him!" Gabe shouted. "Forget about me! Just end this!" He shouted.

"NO!" Henry shouted.

"We lost Nathan, I'm not about to lose you too," I shouted.

Subtly, the four of us exchanged glances. Henry, Kat, and even Seraphina had tears in their eyes. Gabe sobbed with the edge of the blade touching his neck. The cold metal made Gabe flinch with every muscle tick. Gabe could turn to ice, but there was no denying the chilling feeling of a blade against your skin.

We all knew what we needed to do.

God, I do not want to do this. I do not think I can do this. Why do I have to do this? This is not going to avenge Nathan. This is going to kill me.

I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths. In through my nose and out through my mouth. In and out. In and out.

This needed to end. I could finally end this.
