I went to Ezra's office.

The press conference concluded over an hour ago, and the kingdoms heard me speak live. There had to be dozens of news stories already released.

However, the last thing I wanted to talk about is the press conference. I wanted to talk to Ezra about the council's results.

My special knock allowed me access to Ezra's office. Big shock. Elizabeth was standing next to Ezra. Did this woman ever sit down?

"Who will be giving the results from the council?" I asked.

Ezra and Elizabeth were in Ezra's office going through the media interpretation from the press conference this morning. It was going to determine the fate of the royal family. If the kingdom does not have faith in their rulers, then they would not stand by their peace treaties that have been in place for over a century.

It could lead to war.

It could lead to people wanting to overthrow the kingdom.

"A messenger of the council, I believe. A written declaration of their results will be read in its entirety to you all," Ezra explained.

"I want you to read the declaration," I stated, without hesitating.

"Alexandra, why does the reader of the declaration matter to you? It will not change what is written, because that declaration will be stored in the court system," Ezra said.

Elizabeth looked puzzled. Her normal poised stature has become overwhelmingly despondent. She looks like she has disassociated herself from the conversation and from her entire existence.

The dark circles under her eyes have become more evident. Elizabeth looks like she has not slept in days, and her entire body looks overpowered by the recent events that have been taking place around the palace.

The poor woman looks miserable.

"My friend's entire future depends on this written declaration. Regardless of the outcome, it would mean a lot to all of us if the results came from you," I said. "Especially for Dominick and I. Having our father read the results would make it better for us either way."

"Alright. I will have the messenger deliver the declaration to my office. I will personally brief you and your friends in the palace library," Ezra said.
