Immediately back to work.

Business as usual in the palace.

It was the middle of the night and Kat went straight to the royal dressing room after being freed from her quarantine. It was late at night, so she could not stay awake for long. She fell asleep in front of her sewing machine, so I attempted to make her comfortable and I went to sleep on the couch in the royal dressing room with her.

Gabe, Henry, and Nathan have been unable to return to work, because they are currently under a suspension. The three of them disobeyed Ezra by going to Findara and the investigation into everything that happened in the Forbidden Forest is still underway. We need to hear the ruling in order to see if the suspension will be lifted.

Seraphina has also been staying in the palace with us, because no one wants to be alone. She slept in my room last night and I felt bad leaving her alone; however, she was fast asleep when I checked on her, so I assumed she would be fine.

As soon as the sun came up, I was uncomfortably awake. I walked around the palace in order to find Ezra. I needed to know everything about the upcoming ruling that held the fate of my friends. I walked up to his office door and did my special knock. I knocked seven times on the giant wooden door and calmly said Ezra's name. He gave me permission to enter his office and I politely sat in a chair across from his desk.

"When will we receive the ruling from the council? Also, is it possible for me to speak to the council on behalf of my friends?" I asked.

"By the end of the workday tomorrow. The council has already begun their deliberations, so no one can speak to them any further," Ezra explained. I huffed out a sigh, but I stopped myself from slouching into the chair. I kept my composure and regained my poised attitude. "I have arranged for a press conference to be held on the palace grounds in order to inform the public on the recent events."

"What are you going to say?" I asked.

"I  won't be saying anything. You will. As the princess, my first royal heir, and eyewitness to the events in Findara - you will be leading the press conference. The citizens of all kingdoms will want to hear the account from you," Ezra explained.

"Do I have any say in this?" I asked. Ezra shook his head. Every muscle in my body knew that I did not have a say in this matter, but I had to ask to be sure.
