Nineteen years of being ordinary.
Meet Alex Fitz. Born to Ezra and Valentina with the name Alexandra Katerina Fitzgerald. She is a princess completely unaware of that fact. When her younger half brother shows up to make her aware of her royal stat...
I will never be ordinary again. An entire Kingdom will know my name. I will officially be a princess.
I thought about the Winter Ball nearly every minute of every day. With every thought, my heart would race. It honestly raced faster than when I kissed Nathan for the first time. Falling for Nathan was easy. Preparing for the Winter Ball was difficult.
I looked out the window of the royal dressing room. The employees were in the process of setting up the large, heated tents in order to allow everyone from the kingdom onto the grounds of the palace. It would not fit the entire nation, but at least the Winter Ball was open to the public.
"One more day until you're no longer a secret!" Kat squealed. "Maybe we won't have to sneak into the village anymore. Maybe Ezra will let us go on our own." Kat aggressively pulled on strings on the back of my dress. I groaned in agonizing pain! "Have you been able to find your bracelet?" Kat asked.
I shook my head.
Thinking about not having my bracelet tore my heart into pieces.
Tomorrow would be the day that the entire nation knows who I am. I would be fulfilling my destiny of being Ezra Fitzgerald's first born. I wanted my mom to be here for that. I knew my mom could never be there, but I never wanted to go through the Winter Ball alone, and I hoped that wearing her bracelet could keep her close.
Someone came into the royal dressing room. Both Kat and I assumed that it would be Penelope. However, it was a different woman.
"Pardon me, your highness. Her majesty, Queen Elizabeth, wanted me to give you these shoes to try on for the Winter Ball," she said.
"Thank you. I'm Alex and this is my best friend, Kat," I said. I took the shoes and put them on. Thankfully, I still had my dress on. Kat had finally decided on the exact dress I was going to wear tomorrow night.
