Even though Jade didn't know Lara as well as the others, she felt a heavy pain in her heart for this loss.

Jade: Delph.... I...I'm so sorry.... I remember how much she meant to you...

Delph was devastated. The sound of his crying was the only sound that could be heard in Luminary's room.

He was sitting in the middle of the room's large curved couch with Leo and Luiz at his side, trying their best to console him and Nana was the corner with crossed arms and legs, also dealing with the sad moment on her own way.

Jade gave up and left the room, with all her paints, not saying a word. However she was stopped as Nana called her, also leaving the room and closing its door.

Nana: How about a drink?

Jade was astonished with the invite, Nana looked like the most distant team member, so she never expected an invite from her.

Jade: Maybe one wouldn't hurt...

They went to the 2nd underground floor of the HQ, a floor reserved specifically to be one huge cafeteria. Normally that place would be full of people, but it was close to 8pm so there were only those who had to stay after their shift, night shift personnel and those who used to sleep in their team's room.

It was mostly silent, with some low sounds of people talking, knife and forks touching the plates and Mariah Carrey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" playing on the speakers.

Jade and Nana were seated on opposite sides, front to each other, on a blue cafeteria table close to the silver-ish colored wall.

They took slow sips on their hot chocolate cups and looked at the liquid with sad faces.

Jade: When you asked about drinks this isn't what I had in mind. You're full of surprises, estas loca chica.

Nana made a light smile.

Nana: Heh, "muchas gracias".

She took a sip of her cup.

Nana: Christmas is just around the corner and this war is just a sadistic Santa Claus that just keeps on giving.

Jade: yea...

Jade chuckled softly, but Nana realized something and facepalmed.

Nana: Ah great...

Jade: hm? what's wrong?

Nana: It's December 19th, we spent so much time focused on attacking Dennis, The White King, that we forgot to do other stuff.

Jade: like...?

Nana crossed her arms and looked up.

Nana: Well, most of us don't return home in a while, always sleeping in our team's room. There were also Lara and Luiz' birthdays on December 8th and 4th, respectively.

She sighed and leaned her face on her fist.

Nana: They also didn't say anything. Lara was hellbent on her objectives, so was that blue seaweed.

Jade: Fail?

Jade didn't get it at first, then she realized Nana was speaking about her blue coat teammate.

Nana: I mean, it's only their fault if they didn't say a thing, right? Well, I shouldn't be speaking ill of the dead, I suppose.

Jade: I guess I have a new face to put up on the next "Dia de los Muertos".

Nana knew a bit about Jade's Mexican culture, so she chuckled at those words, but couldn't really sympathize with her. Not because she was american, but because pureblood dragons aren't like humans when it comes to death.
