Episode 31 - Hold My Hand

After crossing the Black Sea, reaching Ukraine and discretely traveling the country through the war zones, Team Light members of Luminary managed to arrive in Kiev, the country's capital and search for safe grounds in an IBI base on the sewers of the city.

Paris: Damn, this place stinks! How can the IBI manage to live here?

Delph: A smell spell perhaps, are we in the right path?

Allen: Yeah, we are. Just keep walking and avoiding the crocodiles.

Jade: great.. I was breathing fine till you pointed it out...

she painted up some air filter masks for everyone

Silver: Thanks Jade. Why does mine have a second place medal picture on it?

Everyone puts them on.

Paris: Because SILVER medal, am I right?

Arriving at the IBI's hiding place and identifying themselves, they entered and took a look around. It wasn't the best of places to stay, everyone seemed to have a gas mask and that was very obviously an improvised place. Their escort took them to the one in charge.

Escort: Ma'an, the Luminary agents for the assault mission.

The tall woman looked behind and smiled at them, well, if she wasn't wearing a mask they would see her smiling.

Sporty: Hello, Luminary, welcome to Kiev, Ukraine. I'm Sporty, I command the war effort around here.

Jade: Nice you meet you

They all smiled but realized Sporty couldn't see it because of the mask

Delph: Well, we are certainly not here for the sights.

Paris: Although the poisonous gas makes for good sunsets.

Allen: Why would the IBI fight for a poisonous country?

Sporty: Ukraine wasn't always like this, it was a typical European country, until the Saisem happened and discovered Plesh Gases.

Allen: It's here that Plesh venom is made?

Paris: Plesh Venom?

Sporty: Correct, in its natural state the Plesh substance in the poison gas everywhere isn't deadly, but it can be used to create powerful energetics.

Allen: In short, steroids for super powered people and dragons.

Sporty: After the Saisem discovered how to use this for profit, the whole country became a toxic gas wasteland.

Delph: So why are we not dead yet?

Allen: The gas isn't deadly, it just can make you weaker, lower your attack and defense.

Sporty: That's why we use special masks.

Silver: Glad Jade made these when she did.

Sporty snapped her fingers and a medical IBI agent came to them to give medical shots and upgrade their masks.

Paris: What's with the needles?

Sporty: Any Plesh gas you have breathed so far will be cured in some minutes.

Jade: I was feeling a bit weaker from the gasses...

Delph: So, let me guess, the Ukranian citizens, especially the powerless ones, are forced to work on factories here to produce the Plesh steroids for Saisem?

Sporty: Correct. Our objective here from the start was destroying the Red King's base, but then saving the civilians also became a priority, hence why we haven't managed to make any significant progress so far.
