Episode 13 - Everybody's Somebody's Fool

A young man woke up in the middle of an open field.

"I must have fallen asleep without realizing."

The boy opened his eyes and habitually scratched his eye patch. He could feel the midday sunlight through the hood that covered most of his head.

"How much time has passed?"

"You were asleep for around one mealtime, Allen."

Allen removed his hood to look up towards the source of the reply. The intense sunlight made him squint. He saw a silhouette standing high above him. He was slightly taken aback but didn't let it show.

Allen: Why are you standing up so high?

The boy standing gently on top of the tip of his spear smiled.

"You never know when enemies might appear right? I'll be able to see further if I'm up higher."

Allen: Your name... is Silver, right?

The young dude showed a smile towards Allen even though they had only known each other since yesterday.

Just with a single glance you could tell Silver was a good natured dude. Those traits would probably make him likable by most people. But Allen wasn't too fond of him.

Silver: Yes that is my name.

Annoyed, Allen left out a grunt accordingly and started to walk forward. Silver came down from his spear and followed Allen as he diligently scouted the surrounding area.

Allen: We shouldn't have to go out of our way to be cautious since we are standing in an open field. But, well, you never know...

Allen waved his hand, cresting 6 dark green energy spheres and let them fly forwards to scout the surrounding area.

Seeing Silver become amazed as he watched the spheres fly around made Allen feel a bit better. His mood wasn't too great after waking from a good nap.

Allen: There's no enemies around this area. We should move ahead.

Silver: Got it.

Silver made a teasing smile.

Silver: Looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed.

Allen was annoyed by that comment

Allen: First, I was sleeping in the grass. Second, were you making fun of me just now?

Silver: Not really.

He chuckled in a friendly manner, But he halted and suddenly turned his head and looked over to the other side of the field. Allen found this strange and looked in the same direction.

Allen: There seems to be a slight problem over there.

They both tried to hide in the bushes and, upon closer look, there were two people facing off ahead. They didn't know him, but Paris was there with his Bloody Katana and the other was a man with a large build.

They both looked extremely exhausted and were both panting heavily without making a move.

Paris: You... You're not too bad, old man!

Villain: You annoying brat!

They were taking a slight break from their intense fight to recover their stamina. But the young man's shoulders were bleeding compared to the large man who had no visible injuries. This only triggered Paris even more, seeing his own blood was not only a battle advantage, but it made him get more wild. But, still, it looked like he was at a disadvantage.
