Chapter 27 - Surgery

— Peters POV —

-Strange: "She made it", he came out of the operation room.
-Tony: "And does she have a-", he was pointing on his chest.
-Strange: "No. She'll be fine."
-Peter: "Can we go to her now?"
-Strange: "They'll clean up and get her to another room and then you can."

The tension of everyone was gone by now, except for Loki. He was sitting there and did not look away once.

-Peter: "She made it.", I said to comfort him.
-Loki: "We don't know until she wakes up."

He stood up and got to the window to see what's going on inside of there.

-Loki: "STRANGE!"

He totally panicked and then I heard it. All those electronic devices were making noises. I jumped off the chair and ran next to Loki. On one of those monitors you could see that her heart stopped beating. Dr. Strange ran inside and made a cardiac massage.

-Strange: "Open her up again.", he told his assistants.
-Steve: "You guys should sit back down."
-Loki: "Not in a thousand years."

Dr. Strange didn't wanted us to see, what he's about to do, so he closed the curtains from the inside. He then came back to us.

-Strange: "We might have missed something."
-Tony: "I thought you were the best doctor ever!", Tony accused Strange.
-Strange: "I don't think that I missed something near the heart. I think there could be some fragments in her throat or in her lung."
-Steve: "Then why are you out here?"
-Strange: "The operation is dangerous and really risky. Also it won't be nice to see it.", he looked at Mr. Stark, because he has to decide about her now.
-Pepper: "You have to decide."
-Tony: "No, I don't want to."
-Pepper: "Listen Tony, you can't blame yourself for not knowing her, it wasn't your fault and now you can finally get to know her."
-Tony: "Do it.", Mr. Stark said that without hesitating a second time.

It was already late at night, I think 1 AM and just Tony, Pepper, Loki and I were waiting for dr. Strange to come out of this room.

-Tony: "What is taking so long?"
-Pepper: "Tony it's a complicated operation, they take some time."
-Peter: "She will make it, right?", I felt tears coming up in my eyes.
-Pepper: "Of course she will."

Loki jumped off that couch he was sitting on since we arrived on Earth again and walked outside.

-Pepper: "Do you really think that they're just friends?", she asked Tony.
-Tony: "I hope that for him."

— Loki's POV —

I had to get out of there, because I can't live knowing that this was usually my fault. I feel like I could destroy everything around me and that's what I did. I lifted up some rocks that were laying around from the hole in the ground and throw them around. While I did this I screamed. My heart hurts, no it actually burns and I can't stand this feeling. I wanted to go back to Asgard (or Jotunheim? I don't know) just to be gone, to not face another of my failures.

-Peter: "Loki, stop!!", there's this kid again.
-Loki: "What do you want, spidey boy?"
-Peter: "You can't go away."
-Loki: "Tell me why I can't.", I was sarcastic, because this little kid could never stop me from leaving.
-Peter: "I can't believe I'm saying that, but she needs you. When she wakes up-", I interrupted him.
-Loki: "Yes that's the point , when she wakes up, when this weird doctor did a good job. Don't you see that she has no chance to survive?"
-Peter: "She will, she is strong enough."
-Loki: "Her life is not in her hands anymore, it's in the hands of that doctor and we're not at a hospital and he said that this is a very complicated surgery."
-Peter: "Okay then go, but remember my words that she will be very disappointed in you when she wakes up and I tell her that you left.", I was surprised by this kid once again, because I didn't know that he could be like that.
