You weren't able to sleep for the whole night, and just kept staring at the clock that's standing on your bedside table.
Once it shows 6 AM you quickly get out of bed - just how you're used to. You look through the clothes that Ms. Potts got you. They're nothing like your style at all, it's more like those clothes were taken out of her own closet, and you make a disgusted face while holding up a skirt.
Your whole routine in the bathroom is almost mechanically, and you don't even need to think about it much. It was never a big part of your life before, because if no one was there then no one would care about what you look like. Your subconscious reminds you that those people will probably care a lot, but you can't bring yourself to care, and just push the thought to the back of your mind.
It doesn't make you jump when, just when you are done, the door opens and Ms. Potts tells you to get breakfast. Before you follow her you grab the bag with the school supplies that you'll probably need.
You feel a little warmth spread through you, and you have to suppress a small smile. The longer you think about it, the more this place feels like your old home. You just have more freedom, the rooms look fancier, and instead of a robotic voice Ms. Potts talks to you.
It probably feels too much like your old home.
When you sit down in the dining room, at the exact same place you sat yesterday, you notice that Ms. Potts isn't leaving you like you thought she would.
You can still tell how uncomfortable she feels when she's near you, and it makes this all so much more awkward than it has to be, really.
"What?" You ask, annoyed by her silence and presence.
She clears her throat before she takes a deep breath. "Just wanted to inform you that Happy will be waiting for you outside."
You raise a brow. "Who's Happy?"
Her eyes widen a little and she immediately says, "it's Mr. Hogan to you."
You just look at her unfazed, waiting for her to either disappear or to finally explain.
"He's going to drive you to school, and afterwards you'll be buying some clothes. Mr. Stark has given a budget and if you want to try to get to his good side, I wouldn't even think about spending even just a dollar more than the budget he gave."
You note that every time she talks that it sounds like it's rehearsed; as if she would tell you a poem she has memorised.
You don't say anything about that it sounds like a threat, and just keep looking at her - some might say that you kinda enjoy making her uncomfortable, which is definitely true.
After another while, and after realising that she won't get any reaction out of you, she finally leaves you alone, and you get to enjoy your breakfast, before you go outside where Mr. Hogan is apparently waiting.
You see him immediately - not that it would've been hard to miss him, when he's actually standing at the entrance, and a black car is parked a little further away from it.
He doesn't say anything to you. You think that Mr. Stark has probably ordered him to not talk to you, which you're definitely more than fine with.
The ride is short, and enjoyable, although you would've preferred to ride Barnes' motorbike again.
Before you close the door, Mr. Hogan tells you to find the secretariat, and you do exactly that once you enter the building.
They give you everything you need; a schedule with all your classrooms, the number for your locker, and some books that you just stuffed inside your bag.
