Harry laid awake that night staring at the ceiling. What was he getting himself into? Would this work out? Did a small part of himself wish that this relationship could be real?  Was Hermione already onto him? All these questions bounced around his mind, keeping him from going to sleep. Harry tried his best to block them out, hugging his pillow tight and closing his eyes.

Harry awoke the next morning, still tired from his troubled night of thinking. Breakfast went smoothly, Hermione asking minimal questions about Harry's supposed boyfriend. The three of them had potions class first period so they exited the hall together. Ron gave Harry a look of concern.

"You all right, mate? You seem tired." Harry stifled a yawn.

"I'm fine, just a little trouble sleeping last night. Thanks though." He responded, smiling weakly. Once in class, Harry sat near his friends only to learn that they would be assigned partners for the period. Partially to his delight and partially to his dread, Harry was partnered with Draco. At least they were seated in the back, but in view of Hermione if she happened to glance backwards. The two boys sat awkwardly stiff next to each other as the instructions droned on, and Harry noticed Hermione squinting at their cold posture.

"Hold my hand." Harry hissed almost silently at the blonde. Draco looked taken aback.

"What?" He whispered. Harry didn't respond, he simply grasped the other boy's hand, placing their intertwined fingers on the table without looking away from the board. Draco flushed as Harry began to stroke his thumb over the back of the taller boy's hand. The blonde glanced slightly at Hermione, and she was still staring, her squint replaced by wide eyes. The feeling of Harry's hand on his gave him butterflies in his stomach. Draco was sure that Harry thought nothing of it.
He couldn't be more wrong. Harry was doing everything in his power to keep his hand from shaking, and he could feel sweat start to form on his brow. He was literally holding Draco Malfoy's hand right now. He brushed his thumb over the other boy's hand in an attempt to steady his racing thoughts and to be honest, it helped. Draco didn't move to pull away at any point, so he didn't stop.

Later in the class they were creating their potions and Harry was chopping up one of the ingredients. Draco saw Hermione staring at them in the reflection of Harry's glasses. Without thinking, Draco brushed some stray hairs behind Harry's ear and pushed his glasses back up his nose. The Gryffindor looked up in surprise, to be met with Draco's hands on his.

"Let me help you with that," Draco offered, cutting the ingredients in sync with Harry, their hands overlapping. Harry understood when he caught a glimpse of Hermione and continued to chop with his 'boyfriend'.

First and second period came and went, and finally it was time for lunch. Draco had agreed to meet Harry in an empty classroom and found him perched on the end of a desk when he arrived. The dark haired boy smiled at the sight of the other.

"Hey Ma- Draco. Sorry potions was a bit awkward today but I figured that we should go over how we're gonna make this work just so we're on the same page." Harry explained. Draco nodded and sat down.

"So, obviously to be realistic we should hang out a bit, nothing too major, just maybe walk together in front of Ron and Hermione. Also Hermione knows that my main love language is touch, so that needs to be included too." Draco blushed at the thought of being subject to Harry Potter's love language, even if it was fake. "We should be able to do stuff that boyfriends do without going too far," Harry continued. "Like hug, hold hands, stuff like that. If you're comfortable, of course. Obviously we don't need to... you know... kiss or anything." He finished, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. There were a lot of things Draco wanted to say right now, but he mainly didn't want to make Harry feel any more uncomfortable than he already seemed. Sure, Draco secretly wished that they would have to kiss, but didn't voice these opinions.

"Sounds alright to me." He said with a weak smile. "I mean you are paying me, after all." He chuckled. Unable to help himself, he walked over to the blushing boy and wrapped him in a hug. Harry was surprised but figured they needed to be more comfortable with this stuff if they were going to pull it off. They held each other in silence for a few seconds, before pulling away and awkwardly exiting the room.
