I think I've done it in previous chapters just especially in this one I switch povs without saying it but y'all can probably figure it out lmao
Harry and Draco had decided to meet up again to go over the break-up, since they had mostly avoided the topic at Hogsmeade. Draco had made up his mind. He was going to tell Harry about how he felt. He had a sneaking suspicion that Harry might feel the same, but he wasn't too confident.
The day for the meetup had arrived, and this time they chose the room of requirements in case it was a longer discussion. Draco arrived a bit early, pacing the room nervously. He felt a bit more calm when Harry entered the room with a smile on his face.
"Hey." Draco said, voice breaking a little. He gestured to the couch on the other side of the room. "Shall we sit?" Harry nodded with a smile, following the other boy and taking a seat.
"Okay so," Harry began. "The fake break up is supposed to be this week, but we've hardly thought about what the cause would be. We can't just give them no explanation. Got any ideas?" Draco felt his eyes water a bit. "Draco?" Harry questioned nervously. Draco felt a sudden surge of bravery.
"What if we didn't fake break up?" He whispered. Harry blinked.
"What do you mean?" He said, puzzled. Draco took a deep breath.
"I mean, what if we dated, for real. I mean that I don't want to leave you. I mean that, I like you, Harry. Not fake, I really like you." He finished. Harry stared back, eyes wide and saying nothing. "This was a mistake... I'm sorry." Draco whispered, standing and running towards the door. When he pushed the door open, there was no sound of footsteps running after him.
Harry sat on the couch, hearing the door slam behind the other boy. He was frozen in shock, he hadn't even said anything to Draco in response to his confession. The thing was, Harry did like Draco back. He had for a while. Now that the feeling was reciprocated, he was so surprised that he didn't know what to do. Reality suddenly hit Harry like a bus. Draco liked him back!
"Oh my god" He said aloud to himself. He needed to go get Draco! He jumped up from the couch and bolted towards the door, running in the direction that he heard Draco. It was dinner time, so the halls were empty.
"Draco!" He called, bounding down the hall as fast as his legs could carry him. He heard faint footsteps and sniffling down the hall to the right, so he rushed there, adrenaline pumping in his veins. As he turned the corner, he spotted the blonde, still running.
"Draco, wait! Please!" He shouted at the other boy, breathing a sigh of relief as Draco slowed and turned around. Harry continued to run to him, stopping when they were face to face. Tears streamed down Draco's cheeks and he stared at Harry expectantly, without words. Harry reached up and gently thumbed the tears from the other boy's face.
"Draco, I... I just...you..." He stuttered, out of breath. Deciding against words, he leaned forwards and united their lips. Draco closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around Harry's shoulder's, pulling him closer. The kiss was sweet and passionate, filling the gap of so many unspoken words. When they finally broke apart, they stood with their foreheads touching, smiles upon both faces.
"I like you too, Draco. A lot. I have for a long time." Harry admitted, pressing another kiss to Draco's nose. The blonde buried his face in the other boy's hair.
"You big dummy! You had me so scared that we were never going to talk again because you didn't like me back." He scolded with a laugh.
"I'm sorry." Harry said softly, intertwining their fingers and kissing the back of Draco's hand. "I was so surprised I just didn't know how to react." He explained, starting to pepper Draco's face with kisses.
"So much for the no kissing rule." Draco said with a giggle, cupping Harry's cheek and pecking him on the lips. The shorter boy smiled.
"We can throw out all the rules now. And that fake break up too." They walked back down the hallway, hand in hand.
Meanwhile during this exchange, Hermione was sharing her theories with Ron yet again.
"Trust me Ron, I'm right! They are not actually dating." Ron hummed in agreement, busily chewing on a drumstick. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Are you even listening to me, Ronald?" She asked annoyedly.
"Yeah sure... something about Harry and Draco again?" Ron responded without taking his focus away from his dinner.
"I only talk about it so much because I know that I'm right! It's been over a month and I have never seen them kiss. Draco hasn't ever eaten a meal with us either." She explained. "Ginny was so sad when she found out. Imagine if he was just lying to her, how cruel! You know what, Ron? I'm going to confront him about it tomorrow morning. It's fine if I'm wrong, he just owes an explanation." She huffed.
"You tell 'em, Mione." Ron agreed, not quite sure what he had just encouraged but happy to listen. Well, half listen.
The next morning, Harry strode to the table for breakfast, a smile plastered on his face. Hermione looked up at him proudly, being sure with her discovery. Harry greeted her and Ron briefly, loading up his plate.
"Harry, I know that-" She started matter-of-factly, but was cut off by a tall blonde showing up beside Harry.
"Hey babe, can I sit here?" Harry blushed at the pet name and nodded, making sure there was enough space. Draco smoothly sat and placed his plate down. He closed the gap between him and Harry, sliding his hand into his boyfriend's black hair, their lips connected. They kissed passionately for a good few seconds before breaking apart.
"Good morning." Draco said casually, turning back to his food. Needless to say, Hermione was shocked. Ron snickered at her surprised expression and she kicked him under the table.
"What were you saying, Hermione?" Harry asked, brushing Draco's hair behind his ear.
"Oh, nothing." She said with a smile. Hermione Granger did not like to be wrong, but it made her happy to know that Harry was really with someone. Draco ended up getting along nicely with Ron and Hermione, and it was a very pleasant meal.
Zabini watched from across the room with Pansy, the both of them quietly cheering Draco on. He couldn't wait for the story.
