- Draco is resistant to dance and Ron and Hermione's wedding -

word count: 787

Today was the day of Ron and Hermione's long awaited wedding. Harry and Draco had come together and were so far having a great time. The wedding was nice, it was in a large tent, illuminated by lanterns and candles. They had gotten to watch the sun set, but it was dark out now. People floated around, sitting, chatting, eating, or dancing. Harry and Draco remained at the tables with a couple of old friends. More and more people started to gravitate towards the dance floor. Draco was sat enjoying the ambience around him and staring at his boyfriend with loving eyes. Harry was catching up with Luna, who had come over to say hello. Draco barely noticed when she stood and walked away. He was pulled back to focus when Harry turned to him.

"Dray, come dance with us?" He asked with a smile. Draco let out a small laugh.

"You know I don't dance, babe." He replied, and Harry rolled his eyes.

"Come on, it'll be fun! It's not that hard, I promise." He argued, poking Draco's arm. Draco felt the sinking feeling of embarrassment in his stomach at the idea of dancing there. Harry and Draco were quite opposites when it came to dancing. Of course Harry wasn't the type to break out in dance, but he enjoyed dancing with friends or at events. Draco on the other hand, hated dancing. He didn't know what it was, it made him feel weird and stupid. He could never figure out how to move, and probably came off as stiff and awkward.

"I really don't dance." Draco repeated. "Scratch that, I can't dance." He wouldn't budge. Maybe if he was drunk, but he was not about to go dance while cold sober.

"So... no?" Harry asked. Draco shook his head with a smirk, but immediately felt guilty when Harry's smile faltered. "Oh, alright." He said, voice thick with disappointment. He patted Draco's knee and stood, making his way to the dance floor. Draco watched in remorse as Harry ambled over. He hadn't meant to be cold, he honestly just didn't like to dance. Especially not in front of people. He continued to watch Harry who stepped onto the floor next to Hermione, holding his hand out to her in offering. The bride laughed and took it, allowing Harry to spin her around. Draco felt a pang of guilt in his chest that it wasn't him dancing with Harry, but he figured that Harry was probably enjoying dancing with Hermione. As he stared at the two friends dancing about the floor, he heard a voice from behind him.

"Hey Draco, how've you been?" Neville asked warmly. Draco greeted him back, making room for him to sit. They made some small talk and shortly were joined by Dean. The three were some of the only ones not hovering around the dance floor. It was a pleasant conversation nonetheless. He couldn't help but sneak glances at Harry while they talked, and he was still moving about with Hermione. The music changed to a slow song, and by then Draco had made up his mind. He would be damned if he were to deny his beautiful boyfriend a slowdance, awkward embarrassment and all. The conversation with Neville and dean had been fizzling out anyways as they began to run out of things to say.

"It's been great talking to you guys." Draco began, trying to wrap it up. "Excuse me" He said, standing and barely waiting for a response. He took a swig of champagne and strode over to the floor.

As the song ended and a slower one came on, Hermione turned to Harry.

"I'm gonna go find Ron, do you mind?" She asked, placing her hand on his arm.

"Of course not! Go ahead." He said with a warm smile. Hermione said a vague goodbye before shuffling away, leaving Harry standing alone. He sighed, but then felt a hand on his shoulder.

"May I have this dance?" A familiar voice asked. Harry broke into a grin and turned, being face to face with Draco. He giggled and reached up, draping his arms around Draco's neck. Draco's hands rested on Harry's waist, pulling him close. They began to rock and spin gently to the song.

"I thought you didn't dance." Harry said, raising his eyebrow.

"I don't, but I only will for you." Draco replied, the corner of his mouth turning upwards in a smile. Harry beamed and leaned up to kiss Draco. Draco kissed back softly before pulling away and touching their foreheads together. Everyone seemed to be in their own world, tied up with a partner. Draco decided from that moment on, he would never turn down a dance with Harry ever again.
