Braided Hair

helloooo! um i'm probably going to update around every 2 to 4 days but tbh i am still not tied to a schedule lmao 

i'm not talking abt long long hair in this one just imagine like Harry's hair in year 4 but maybe a little bit longer 

also this takes place in like year 6

- Draco tries to braid Harry's hair -

It was midday, and both Harry and Draco had a free period. They liked to spend it together, because it meant that the common rooms were usually empty, since it was during classes. They were sat on a couch in the Gryffindor common room, Draco cross-legged and Harry laid across the couch with his head in the other boy's lap. Harry closed his eyes contently, as Draco's fingers combed through his dark hair. 

"Your hair is so soft." Draco commented and Harry hummed. "It's grown out so much." 

"Well enjoy it while you can, I'm getting it cut soon." Harry said with a laugh. Draco stopped stroking his hair and frowned.

"Why?" He pouted. "I like it like this." 

"I don't know Dray, it's just too long. I won't cut it too much, I promise." Harry reasoned, earning a sigh from his boyfriend. 

"Fine." Draco said sadly, resuming playing with Harry's dark locks. "It's almost long enough to braid." He observed.

"You think?" Harry replied with a yawn. "You should try to braid it." 

"Really?" Draco asked with excitement. Harry laughed at his eager tone.

"Why, do you actually know how to braid hair?" Harry said doubtfully. 

"Of course, us Malfoys are raised to be gentlemen." He said, causing Harry to snort with laughter. "I used to braid my mother's hair." He added wistfully.

"Well, want to try?" Harry asked, turning onto his back to look up at Draco. Draco nodded with a smile, ushering Harry to sit up. Harry sat with his back turned to the blonde, back resting gently against Draco's knees. Draco's eyes scanned Harry's head, figuring out if this would work. 

"Hmm. There's not too much to work with, but I could do a really small one against your scalp. Only ones on the side would be able to be actual braids." He decided, reaching up to Harry's hair. He began to weave the braid together, being as gentle as possible. Every once in a while Harry would whine about it being too tight, but Draco simply shushed him.

"This was your idea, you have to deal with the consequences." He said with a slight laugh and Harry rolled his eyes, not that Draco could see. Despite the occasional pull or sharp pain on Harry's end, the hair braiding was pretty calming to both boys. Harry fought the urge to close his eyes and drift off, as he needed to stay sitting upright. The minutes passed and Draco pulled his hands away, satisfied with his work. He had woven a small, tight French braid from the center of Harry's head, down the back and to the bottom. {idfk how braids work so this might not be an actual thing lmao} It was a nice braid, but he bit back a laugh since it did look a bit odd on Harry.

"It's finished." Draco announced with a giggle. Harry felt the back of his head gently.

"Wow, you actually did it." He said, and broke into a smile. "How am I supposed to see it?" He thought aloud. "Oh right, let me go get my camera from my dorm." He said, standing and stretching.

"This definitely needs to be documented." Draco said with a laugh. Harry fetched his camera and then passed it to Draco, who snapped a quick photo and waited for it to develop. {i also don't know how wizard cameras work} Harry looked at the photo and snorted.

"It's great, Dray. Love it." He half joked. 

"I'll buy you chocolate if you wear it to class for the rest of the day." Draco offered. Harry laughed and kissed Draco on the cheek.

"Well I was considering anyway because of your fine craftsmanship, but now chocolate is involved so it's a definite yes." He responded, earning an eye roll from Draco. The blonde wrapped his arms around the other boy and he pulled him close.

"I love you." Draco said, voice muffled since his face was buried in Harry's shoulder.

"I love you too. And your braiding skills."
