I just realized that in this story, it takes Natsu and Lucy the longest to fall in love lollll

{Sting POV}

I noticed from time to time that Lisanna and Lucy hung out. Lisanna would always smile at her and compliment her.

However, it was suspicious. I didn't like it. Lucy seemed tense, and uncomfortable. Everyone in the group didn't like her either, but Natsu always defended her.

"Tell me what's going on." I said, during lunch. Natsu and Lisanna were in the cafeteria, eating in her own group.

Lucy silently fed Eagle, and didn't look my way.

"I'm telling you...she's being a good friend, I just feel uncomfortable because she just suddenly acts like that out of the blue and scares me..."

"Lucy, you're lying."

She clenched her fists. "I'm not."

Before I could say that she was, Rogue put a hand on mine and shook his head. I shut my mouth, pulling my hand away. He stared at me with a blank face, before eating his food again.

"Tch." I said, standing up. "Alright then."

I walked back inside, throwing my food away.

I walked out of the cafeteria, towards my classroom. I sighed.

"Hey, let's talk." Someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me into an empty classroom.

"Woah!"

When I was able to maintain my balance, I saw that it was Rogue.

"Don't just scare me like that, idiot!"

He crossed his arms. "Well, look who's all sensitive."

I looked away, crossing my arms. "What do you mean?"

"You realize that's your first time getting annoyed at Lucy?"

"Are you guilt tripping me on purpose?"

"Yes."

I frowned, sitting down. "It's not my fault. I'm just worried."

"When are you NOT worried?" He asked, crossing his arms. "Lucy is your age. She can take care of herself."

"Being the same age doesn't mean she's responsible, or has the physical ability to be on her own."

"Sting, listen to yourself." He said, kneeling in front of me to make eye-contact with me. "She doesn't have the physical abilities to be on her own? What do you think she's been doing at home, at school, and everywhere else when you weren't there? In my opinion, you're just being overprotective as hell."

I clenched my fists, and angrily looked away. My eyes started to burn. "It's...That's not..."

It's my fault in the first place that she became like that...that's why I'm like this...

He sighed. "You're not giving her the freedom to solve her own problems."

"But...you don't think Lisanna is suspicious? Aren't you even worried?"

"Of course I am. But I'm sure Lucy can solve it." Rogue said. "It's a harsh world, dude. You can't ALWAYS be there for her."

He grabbed my chin and made me face him. "You should go apologize for making her feel bad."

I looked into his dark eyes, and he stared right back, except very firmly. I looked away, my heart beating quickly.

(...I can't, I just can't—AGH IM WEAK FOR STINGUE)

"F-Fine..." I said, in a quiet voice.

"Good." He stood up and helped me up, grabbing my wrist firmly. "Now let's go. We're going to be late."

{Lucy POV}

Did he catch on already?

If he caught on, then everyone else must've caught on already...

I heard the way Sting felt annoyed. Rogue went after him, telling me that he'll convince him to apologize.

"Hey, Lucy!" I stopped, and an arm landed on my shoulders. I recognized it.

"Hey, Natsu."

"How are you today?"

I smiled. "Good, how about you?"

"Oh, you know how I am." He said. I felt his smile.

"I miss hanging out with you." He said, sighing. "We should hang out more often!"

"Oh, come on, I talk to you at school..."

"Not at school! We barely talk outside of school, and I don't know a lot about you! I wanna be close to you, y'know?"

I felt my face heat up. "Y-Yeah..."

"Wanna hang out sometime? I'll schedule and everything!"

I smiled. "That would be lovely..."

"Great! See you around!"

I smiled to myself. "Eagle, is this what you would call a date...?"

He barked in response as I entered the room.
