{Lucy POV}

"Lis?"

I flinched.

"It's such a coincidence! What're you guys doing here? Out with some friends?"

"No, just us." Natsu said, laughing. "Wow, it's great to see you!"

"Oh, don't be silly. You see me at school!"

They laughed. I didn't really get what was so funny about what she said, but I mean...

"Lucy!" She gave me a hug. I tensed. "It's good to see you!"

"It's good to hear you, I guess..." I said, facing away. She pulled away.

"What're you guys doing here? I saw you guys running like crazy!" Lisanna said, laughing.

"Running from some fans." Natsu said. "Man, it was crazy!"

"Why? I thought you loved your fans, Natsu!"

"They were making Lucy uncomfortable, and this was our day to hang out together! I didn't want to ruin it."

"Oh, I see." Lisanna said. "Well, it's okay if I hang out with you guys, right?"

"Huh?" I asked.

"My parents." Lisanna whispered. "See...they kicked me out of the house because I wasn't active and I literally have nothing to do."

Before I could interfere, Natsu replied.

"Sorry, Lis...I promised Lucy that we'll hang out today."

I was surprised. I expected Natsu to let her come with us. I smiled at the at the thought.

"Oh...that's ok! Sorry for bothering you! Have a great time!"

Before she left, she whispered, "Don't forget, hon..."

I swished my head away from her and didn't reply. I heard her footsteps slowly fade away.

"Well, ok then! Are you hungry? We should really go eat..."

I pursed my lips. I didn't want to ruin the day, so I just nodded.

"Yeah...Yeah, lets go."

(Time skip)

After a few weeks, Natsu suggested that we go again.

"How about we try that restaurant again? The food looked good." Natsu said. "It was a shame we couldn't eat."

"Don't worry about it, Natsu." I said, smiling. "I had lots of fun that day."

"You sure? But I still feel pretty bad..."

"Don't worry! Next time, I'll take you on a...friend-date."

"Friend-date?"

"I don't know. We're friends and we're not dating so...I don't know."

"Oh, that makes sense." He said.

{Natsu POV}

"I kinda wish we were dating..." I muttered under my breath.

"What?"

"Huh? Oh, nothing."

Something's wrong with you.

Yeah, I know.

"Hey, Lucy? I need to stop by the restroom real quick. Wanna wait or go ahead?"

She swished her head straight at me. "I'll wait."

I smiled, before patting her head. "Thanks."

Her chin dropped down to her chest. I smiled, and ran.

When I came out, I dried my hands against my sweater.

"Alright, I'm done—Lucy?"

She wasn't there. She wasn't where I left her.

"Huh, I guess she was hungry..."

I walked to the cafeteria, hoping she was there. She couldn't have lost herself on campus, right? She has Eagle after all...

When I opened the door, Sting came rushing out, bumping into me.

"Yo, have you seen Lucy? Sorry." He helped me up. "She didn't show up."

"What? I thought she was here?"

"Weren't you the one who was supposed to pick her up today?" Sting asked.

"Yeah, I did. Then I stopped by the restroom and came out, and she wasn't there!" I said, rubbing my head. "I thought she came here..."

Sting's face twisted into a look of worry. "Eagle wouldn't lead Lucy out of campus. He knows not to go anywhere unfamiliar."

"Let's search the school." I said, pulling his wrist. "I'm getting worried."

Sting nodded, and we ran around.

"Lucy!"

Our voices echoed in the halls, her name bouncing off the walls.

(I swear I didn't mean to make that rhyme)

As I turned a corner, I stopped abruptly.

My eyebrows raised and a gasp left my lips.

"L-Lis...L-Lucy...?"

I searched around but Eagle was gone.

Lis was holding Lucy by her hair. Lucy's glasses were on the ground, cracked.

Blood dribbled down Lucy's lips and she was covered in scratches. Her hand limply held Eagle's leash, and the other end was ripped.

Lucy's eyes were half-closed. I was still frozen in shock.

"Tch."

Lis let go of Lucy's hair, who fell to the ground on her side, and ran away.
