{Natsu POV}

Mother and Lucy came walking back towards us.

"You're a interesting young lady." She said, looking at Lucy. Lucy pursed her lips before bowing again.

"I-I'm sorry...."

"No no, it's alright dear. I'm not blaming you."

I looked at Mother in surprise, and she shook her head.

I didn't understand. Why didn't she go with the plan? It would've prevented me from marrying Lisanna.

"Well." I said, faking a laugh. "Let's go then. Sting told me they were hanging out today."

I grabbed her wrist and we linked arms. We slowly walked away from them, and turned a corner.

"Mother! What happened?"

She sighed, before smiling. "You've met an interesting girlfriend, dear."

{Lucy POV}

"What'd she say?" Sting asked, as we walked outside of the mall.

"Nothing important." I said, smiling. "Don't worry, I can take care of it."

"Hmm, you sure?"

"Yeah."

He shrugged and we linked arms again, as we went home.

{Natsu POV}

"I understand." I said, sighing. "Come to think of it, it's a pretty stupid plan."

Mother scoffed. "I'm glad you realize that now."

I looked at her. "What?"

She smirked, before standing up and leaving.

Flashback

"I want you both to register for a marriage so that Natsu can't marry Lisanna."

Lucy's eyes widened. "Excuse me?"

"Well, I mean, you both ARE high schoolers so that might be a problem..."

"Wait-"

"Oh, that doesn't matter! We'll just-"

"Ms. Dragneel!"

The woman stopped talking, looking at Lucy.

"What is it, dear?"

"I-I..." Lucy took a deep breath. "I don't want to..."

"Huh?"

"I don't want to register a marriage or anything..." Lucy said. "I-I'm going to stop the marriage my own way."

Mrs. Dragneel smiled. "I knew it."

Lucy, surprised at the unexpected reply, blinked. "What?"

"I understand now. You truly do love my son." She nodded, before leading the girl back into public. "I'll talk with my son about it dear."

Flashback end

I was still pretty confused, but I didn't question her.

(Time skip)

I was walking with Lucy to the cafeteria, her hand in mine, when suddenly, Sting ran up to us. He had an alarmed look on his face.

Confused, I looked at Sting. He was panting.

"Lucy!"

She flinched. "Huh? Sting? We were on our way, y'know."

He swallowed, and grabbed both of her shoulders. "They found him!"

Lucy tensed. Eagle's leash dropped.

"They...They what?"

Sting smiled, and hugged Lucy, who was still surprised. I was a tad bit confused.

Ok no, I was really confused.

"They managed to track his phone down! That idiot didn't use a burner phone!"

Lucy hugged Sting back, crying into his shoulder. "W-When did you know?"

"They called me just now." He replied. "Oh, that's such a relief!"

That's when he realized that I existed.

"Oh, Natsu." He let go of Lucy and waved. I smirked back, and sighed.

"Who caught who?" I asked curiously, as Lucy wiped her eyes. I worriedly faced her towards me. "Why're you crying?"

She lifted her head, and smiled slightly. More tears streamed down her face.

"They...They found him." She said. She laughed, and turned to Sting, who smiled.

I was still pretty confused. "Huh?"

After much time, they finally explained the situation to me.

I clapped and hugged Lucy, who hugged me back.

"That's awesome!"

(Time skip){Lucy POV}

We ran home in excitement and thrust open the door.

"Mom! Dad!" Sting cried, as we stumbled in, taking off our shoes. Eagle ran off somewhere, carrying his leash with him. Sting helped me, grabbing my hand as we ran over to the sofa.

Its soft, leathery surface touched my hand as we came crashing down onto it. I was engulfed into four arms, as my parents hugged us.

"They're tracking his location down and going to arrest him at the moment." Dad said. "They'll report back to us as soon as they catch him!"

I smiled, laughing. "That's great news!"

We celebrated that night, popping bottles of apple cider and eating a delicious dinner.

{??? POV}

I watch as their laughter fuels my anger.

They're smiling.

How dare they...

They don't deserve happiness.

They don't deserve anything.

They killed him. THEY MURDERED HIM.

THEY DESERVE TO DIE.
