{Lucy POV}
"And then he...with a knife..." I shuddered, just from thinking about it.
He sighed. I could feel his anger, so I gently held his hand.
"That bastard..." He muttered.
"What about you? Are you...Are you okay?"
"Huh? Why are you worrying about me?"
"You've been kidnapped and stuff...so I just thought..."
"Don't worry, I'm fine..." He said. I knew he was lying. There was something that was bothering him.
Before I could ask him, however, he said something first.
"Say, Lucy..."
"Yeah?"
"What happened? Why did he make you...why does he hate you so much?"
I swallowed. Bad thoughts flooded my head. Memories clouded my eyes.
"You...You know why..." I said, almost in a daze. "I...murdered his...his..."
Something choked me up. It wasn't anything physical; it was more like a lump of guilt caught in my throat.
"You didn't murder anyone." He said. "It was..It was an accident."
"Making it an accident doesn't change the fact that I murdered someone." I said. "She was our age too..."
"It was an accident." He repeated. "It was that man's fault for deciding to grieve using revenge."
He stroked my cheek. "Don't say that it's your fault. It isn't."
I nodded, sniffing.
"But still..." I curiously turned my head. "I'm pretty curious about the entire story. Can you tell me?"
"Story...?"
"Well, Sting kept saying that it was his fault, but then that guy is saying that both of you were...you know, at fault. And the puzzles just don't add up. And you also...you know, lost your vision in a subway accident."
I nodded. "Yeah, if you say it like that, it's pretty confusing..."
"Yeah."
I took a deep breath. "Alright...I'll tell you."
{Natsu POV}
"Well, it all starts around 7 years ago? We were going on vacation, but at another part of Japan.
"To get there, we had to ride the subway. And...well, our parents were getting our tickets, so Sting and I were playing around. Nii-Chan was watching us. We lost him in a crowd, so we went looking for him."
She stopped here for a second.
"You don't have to tell—"
"I don't think I'll ever tell you it if I don't tell you now." She said, taking a deep breath. "Anyways...I started crying because I thought we were never going to see our parents again."
I chuckled a bit, and she smiled slightly.
"Sting, to cheer me up, said that we should play a game of tag, and our parents will come searching for us. He was a really stupid kid back then..."
"Well, I mean, he's stupid now, so..."
She laughed. It sounded heavenly.
"We were running towards the subway tracks, and then...I wasn't looking where I was going...and..."
"You guys went tumbling inside...with his daughter."
She nodded, as tears started spilling from her eyes. "We managed to climb out, and tried to help her...but we were...too late..."
I pulled her into my embrace, patting her head comfortingly.
She continued to tell me, but while we hugged.
"Well, after that...her father ran up to us and literally lifted us up, yelling at the top of his lungs. And right at that moment...Papa was there.
He snatched us away from him and demanded to know what was going on. The man was crying, yelling at us."
"Sting and I were both crying...and Papa called the police. We were taken away for questioning..."
She clutched her head. "I don't remember much from that though...
"Anyways, I forgot why, but we went back to the subway station again. Just me, Sting, Mama, and Papa."
"Uh huh."
"Sting and I were together, when I started crying because I was hungry. I was a REAL big crybaby back then.
"Sting agreed to buy me something if I stopped crying."
"Oh, I have a feeling this won't go well..."
"Most of the subway station's food stands and restaurants were all CLOSED due to construction. And among this chaos...we lost our parents...again.
"Sting thought they already boarded the subway without us, so he said that we'll ride until he heard a familiar place. So we boarded, but I was still hungry, and being the petty kid I was, I started crying." She chuckled. "Sting got so mad...he...well, you can't judge a nine-year-old for his decisions...he left the subway...and me."
"Wait. Sting LEFT you in the subway?!"
"Don't judge him because of that!" She said quickly. "He was 9 as well..."
"Yeah, I know."
"Well, anyway, I was crying when a mysterious man, with a hat and mask, came up to me and told me he knew my parents. So I followed him...and well, we ended up in the back of the subway, here there was no one. He sat me down on the seats and kneeled in front of me.
"He...took off his hat and mask, and I recognized his face almost immediately. I gasped, and started to cry. He smacked me and I fell to the floor."
Natsu's fists clenched. I patted his arm, trying to calm him down.
"Well...He took out a pocket knife, telling me that I'll soon be seeing his daughter or something like that...when, well...
"The subway started rumbling, everything was shaking. The lights were flickering. And before I knew it...
"We crashed."
I'm pretty sure some of you were pretty curious as to what happened, lol, and why Sting was blaming himself and stuff. Anyways, hope you're enjoying the story! It might end soon, lol, it's getting WAYYYY too long.
Lots o' love,
