{Lucy POV}Cue the crying mom.
Cue the crying dad.
Then cue the explanation.
Finally, cue the cursing dad.
"Dad! Language!" Sting said.
"How can I stay calm, son? This little bitch—"
"Dad!"
I couldn't help but giggle slightly. Mom touched my face.
"I can't believe it happened again, Lucy..." Mom said. "Oh you poor thing...weren't you scared?"
I pursed my lips. "I was scared."
I didn't see any point in lying. It would just make the situation worse.
"I'm sorry, Mr, Mrs Heartfilia." Natsu said. "I should've been careful—"
"Oh, don't be like that, young man." Dad said. "Don't worry, we don't blame you at all."
"Although I would like it if you were careful, especially with Lucy." Mom said.
I squeezed her hand, and felt her hand slightly shaking.
After a few minutes, Mom and Dad left after Sting told them that he'd stay with me tonight. Natsu stayed for a few more hours.
"What're you going to do with Lisanna?" I asked.
Natsu shifted. "I'm going...to sue her."
I felt and heard his fist clench. I put a hand over his fist, and he relaxed.
"Sue her?" Sting asked. "Oh..."
"I still can't believe it. She was so...so kind..."
"Looks can be deceiving." I said. "That's why I don't rely on looks."
Silence.
"Aw, I expected you guys to laugh." I said. I could already tell Sting cracked a smile.
Sting ruffled my hair. "At least you know how to joke."
Natsu left, telling us that he's going to confront her later on.
Sting fell asleep first, his head next to me. I lied down, facing Sting. I felt his face, feeling the sag under his eyes.
Memories started to flood my head again.
"Sting? Sting!"
"Leave me alone!"
His hands let go of mine as he storms off.
"Sting! Don't go! Please don't go!"
I am too slow. The doors close, and Sting's blonde hair disappears as the vehicle starts to move at its fast pace.
Tears flow down my face like rivers as I realize I am now alone.
"Sting!"
Suddenly, everything starts to shake. The low rumble turns into screeches, which hurts my ears. Everyone around me is murmuring. The lights flicker on and off, and I feel like I'm in a horror movie.
Crash!
Darkness. Black. Everything is blurry. Everything is dark.
Everything hurts.
(Time skip)
I walked into the courthouse, Eagle leading me. Sting held my left hand.
"You ready?" Sting asked. I nodded. We walked to the plaintiff's seat and sat down. The building smelled...scary. Lots of chairs were moved around. My lawyer sat next to me after Sting left. He was a lawyer hired by Natsu.
"You ready, Lucy?"
"Yes, Jura-San."
(Pre-warning: I've never been to court, and I've only watched a few k-dramas about law, so I'm just going to skip the whole process :/)
Lisanna ended up being sentenced to 6 months in jail for assault and battery. I wasn't exactly sure what to do for the entire trial, but Jura-san helped me.
Lisanna was fussing, struggling against the officers as they took her away. Her grunts were heard, and the squeaking of feet clashed against my eardrums. As she passed by, someone came up to me and pulled me away.
"You'll pay for this, Heartfilia!" She yelled. "I'll make sure of it!"
Her voice slowly faded away.
I felt the person's face. "Natsu..."
"Don't worry. It's all over now." He said. "She won't bother you ever again."
I nodded. We walked towards our parents. Mom and Dad stood up and hugged me.
"Oh, I'm still shaking..." Mom said. "Oh, I was so nervous..."
We left the courthouse, walking into the parking lot.
{Natsu POV}
Mrs. Heartfilia turned to my parents.
"Thank you, so much..." She said, sniffing. Lucy walked to the car with Sting. I watched as they disappeared into the car.
"It is a pleasure to help my son's friend, ma'am." Mother said. "Always. I do hope to meet you again."
She turned to me, and took both of my hands. "Thank you, Natsu. I will forever be in your debt."
I smiled.
They left, and Father turned to me. I stared back, wondering what he would say.
"I'm glad I didn't rush the preparations." He said, sighing. "Honestly, that child is quite a disappointment."
"Huh?"
Mother gently hit his shoulder, and smiled at me.
"We'll explain more later, Natsu dear." She kissed my forehead. "I'm proud of you."
I smiled. "Thanks."
(Time skip){Sting POV}
The news was spreading...REALLY fast. Faster than I expected.
In fact, it even reached the news.
The news?
Why the news?
Turns out, she was the youngest daughter of Strauss Corp.
WHAT?!
"Wait...Wait, so does that mean..."
"I'm sorry..." Mira said. She bowed. "I should've told you."
"Is that why you insisted on going to the trial?" Mom asked. "Is that why..."
Mira nodded, a sad smile on her face.
Clang!
I flinched as Laxus stood up. "Mira, c'mere for a second."
She quickly bowed, before following Laxus up to his room. I looked over at Lucy, who was frowning.
"They're so different." Lucy said, standing up. She smiled, although I could tell it was forced. "Thank you for the meal."
She grabbed her backpack, and walked outside, grabbing Eagle's leash. I looked at my parents, gave them an apologetic smile, and left the house quickly to catch up to her.
As we walked in silence, she suddenly grabbed my hand. I flinched.
"Sting..."
"Huh? Yeah? Not feeling well?"
"What-What do I do?"
"What do you mean?"
I turned her to look at me. Her face was beet red.
"Are you ok? Do you have a fever?" I asked. She shook her head.
"N-Natsu...Natsu...!"
"Natsu? What about him?"
She grabbed my arms. "He-He asked me out..."
"..."
