This is probably my longest story EVER LOL
{Sting POV}
"I..I see."
"I'm very sorry, sir..."
"No...No, I will assist in anything if it's to get my son back. I will pay that ransom. He is my son after all."
"Sir, please, it's our fault—"
"Do not question me any more, young man. I know full well you do not have the abilities to get that sum of money in less than a week."
I bit my lip. "Yeah..."
He took a deep breath. "I will..inform my wife. For now...we have no other choice but to stick with what the vile man has instructed."
He hung up, and I set the phone down.
"I told him." I said. "He...He said he'll...pay the...money..."
Mom nodded her head. "That's for the best."
"He'll pay a million dollars like it's nothing..." I said.
"Of course it's nothing to him." Mom said. "We need to figure out how we can help get Natsu back."
"But there's nothing we can do." Laxus said. "The only thing it says here are:
1. A million dollars, in a tightly enclosed suitcase.
2. A plane ticket out of the country.
3. My dear Lucy, all alone with all of the things above. Unarmed.
Make sure to meet me at (random date), at the east gate of her school, at exactly 3 PM sharp. A minute late, and his eyes go bye bye~"
"He's a psycho." I muttered. "Who knows what he's going to do to Lucy..."
"My question is why he's doing this." Laxus said, crossing his arms.
"It's obviously because we almost sent him to jail." Mom said. "Also...Looking at the list, it looks like he wants to get out."
"So it's just ransom with a bit of revenge." Dad said, as he came walking down the stairs.
I stood up, sighing. "I'm going to go check on Lucy."
Before I could go, however, Dad stopped me with his hand. "Don't, Sting. Not now."
"Yeah, squirt. Let her think on her own."
I slumped into my seat again, and Laxus patted my head.
"She'll be fine." He assured me. "And we'll catch that bitch and throw him into jail for life."
"Laxus, language."
He chuckled, although I could tell it was forced. "Yeah, yeah."
{Natsu POV}
I glared at absolutely nothing. It was dark, and I am ashamed to say that I have no sense of direction.
"Just because I have a blindfold on doesn't mean I don't have a chance of escape." I said.
"Shut up."
I was still in the same spot, on the floor. My hands were still tied to the chair, and the man was still sitting next to me.
"Are you just going to sit there forever?"
"What did I say about talking?"
I shut up, pursing my lips.
Ok, talking isn't working...
"Why are you doing this?" I asked. "Why are you hurting Lucy? Or trying to hurt her?"
He chuckled. It sounded evil. "Let me tell you a story, kid."
"I don't want a story, I want a reason—"
Smack!
"Shut up."
I winced.
"Well, it really starts one sunny day." He said. "Maybe about 7-8 years ago? A man and his daughter were planning on going on vacation."
"Vacation?" I asked. I already guessed that the "man" in the story was him.
"Indeed. They had their bags packed, sunglasses in, and ready to go. They went down to the subway station. It was busy, of course.
"The man asked his daughter to wait near gate B while he went to the bathroom real fast."
He paused for a second.
"Well, that's a stupid mistake..." I muttered.
"Yes. It was a stupid mistake." He said. I noticed that he didn't smack me when I talked. "When I—the man checked, the little girl was gone. He was frightened. He started running around the station, looking for his daughter. Guess where he found her?"
I wasn't liking where this was leading.
"W-Where?"
"The subway station had a broken sliding door in a nearby section, where our stop was. She was there, right next to the yellow caution tape. And the man saw these two kids, running around, trying to catch each other. Before he knew it...all three children went tumbling down, including his little girl.
"The man saw the two kids climb out...but he couldn't see his daughter. He saw the two little kids reach into the tunnel for her, but before anyone could do anything...A train came passing by at full speed."
I gasped. "She...She was..."
"Killed. Her body was ripped to pieces." The man grit his teeth. "And it's all their fault.
"They didn't...They just had to fool around like little bitches...and they couldn't even save her in time."
"What..What happened after?" I asked, feeling a bit bad for him. "What happened to yo—the man and the two kids?"
"The man sued them, of course." He replied. Then he said darkly, "But he lost the case.
"Their argument was that the two kids were just simply 'playing around', and there was no intention in killing the daughter. Ha! Isn't that ridiculous?"
You know, at this point, this man was just telling me his story. Not complaining.
"And you've probably already guessed, but that man is me." He said, ripping off the blindfold. I flinched as he sat me upright.
"Yeah, that was kinda obvious..."
"You're a hostage and everything," He said, walking away. "But you make quite a good listener, kid."
And just like that, he disappeared in the darkness.
