{Natsu POV}
I can't believe it.
I'm. In. High. School. What the hell?
What did they expect me to do? Just agree and go along with them?
I have a girl I like. Lisanna was a fricking ex-con, even if it was only for a short time. And this ex-con beat UP the girl I like. How did she manage to get out?
I scoffed. "Money."
Of course. She had money. THEY had money.
But what were they thinking? Didn't they see what she did to Lucy? Weren't they the ones to call her disgusting? What the heck happened to THAT attitude?
I rolled my eyes.
"I wonder what Lucy's up to..."
{Lucy POV}
I calmed down after a few minutes, my heartbeat slowing down to a normal rhythm.
"Feeling better?" Dad asked. I nodded, and he let me go. "I'll go report this to the police, and we'll see what they can do, okay?"
I nodded, and soon, it was just me and Sting. Laxus closed the door behind him.
"Did Rogue go home?"
"Yeah, I dropped him off..."
We stayed in awkward silence.
"Sting..."
"Hm?"
"You don't have to feel guilty, y'know."
He chuckled. "I forgot you can guess literally everything."
I frowned. He gently held my hand.
"I just...I feel sorry."
"That's why I said not to." I said. I took a deep breath. "I'm...I'm okay now."
"You seemed so scared, and it shook me like crazy..." Sting said, shuddering. "Just thinking about it shakes me to my core. I can't imagine how bad it would've been for you."
I smiled slightly, and decided to change the subject. "I heard you were dating Rogue?"
The heat emitting from his face could've melted even the coldest of winters. "You...How did you know?"
"Nii-chan." I said.
"Of course it's him." Sting grumbled.
"Natsu also told me today that Rogue was gonna ask you out." I said.
"Oh..." He said. "Don't tell Mom and Dad about it, okay?"
"Why?"
"What would they think if they found out I was gay, huh?"
"I'm sure they'll be fine with it."
"It doesn't matter. Don't tell them, okay?"
I sighed, but nodded.
Knock knock.
"Lucy? Sting?" Dad's voice, followed by the door creaking open. "I called the police, and they're coming. They're just going to ask a few questions and take your phone, alright?"
I nodded. I've dealt with police before. They didn't scare me that much.
"So, tell me about your day." Sting said. "What'd you guys do?"
I smiled. "Well..."
(Time skip)
The police came over, and Sting was allowed to stay with me during the questioning.
"So this involves that man who abused and hurt you before the subway accident a few years back, yes?
"Yes."
"Can you explain to me what happened during your phone call?"
I explained to the police officer. She encouraged me to continue every time I stopped to take a calming breath.
"Alright. Where is your phone?"
"I-It should be somewhere near that wall..." I said, pointing.
"I found it, Officer." Her partner said. He walked over and handed the phone to her. The familiar clack of the phone opening rang in my ears.
"Huh. It's completely cracked. Did you throw it?"
I blushed. "I-I'm sorry, I was really scared and threw it on instinct."
A puff of air escaped her nose, and I could tell she smiled. "Don't worry, dear. It's an appropriate reaction."
"How did the man manage to call her anyways? Isn't he in jail?"
"He was granted parole for good behavior after 5 years of jail." She replied. I pursed my lips. "But we need to make sure that it was him who called, not someone else."
An unfamiliar sound filled the room.
"Officer Chris."
"Yes?"
"Figure out what's in the SIM card and give me the list of all the unknown phone numbers that is saved in the call history."
"Yes, ma'am."
She stood up, patting my hand. "We'll come over again once we find out who it is, ok dear?"
I nodded. "Thank you."
"Have a nice day."
She left, closing the door behind her.
"You can breathe now." Sting said, laughing.
I released my breath. "W-Wow...That was more nerve-wracking than I thought..."
"It's over now. I think they're going to schedule for the next day with Dad."
I felt around for Sting's hand, until I finally found it. I squeezed his hand.
"Sting...I'm scared he might find us or something..."
He squeezed back. "Don't worry. I'll make sure he doesn't. That jerk isn't going to get anywhere near you. I'll protect you."
I closed my eyes slowly.
"Yeah..."
