I called Stiles at least twenty times one night, and he didn't answer a single time. I wanted to hang out, watch Star Wars or practice my abilities, maybe squeeze in study time for him for the PSAT. I took it freshmen year in San Francisco since all my teachers highly recommended it. But tonight, I was bored. I finished all my homework and was eager to socialize. Another reason I called him was so we could talk...about dating. It's been months since we...kissed and I have been waiting patiently for him to ask, to make this official. It has taken me sometime to truly realized I really loved Stiles. Yes, he was a dork, but my dork who stole my heart. It was time for us to move on.

My doorbell echoed through the house, interrupting my thoughts. Hoping it was Stiles, I raced downstairs and opened it...to find Isaac on my doorstep.

"Oh, hey...Isaac," I said, smiling slightly.

"Hey...uh...Melody," he said, scratching his head. "We need to talk."

"Okay."

I welcomed him inside and we sat down in my living room on the couch.

"So?" I asked.

"So...about the other night," he started. "How did you heal me?"

I hesitated. "I just took away your pain."

"No, it was more than that. You actually healed me."

"I don't know what to tell you. I don't understand how it works," I replied.

"Oh..." He said. "Well, thank you."

"Anytime."

We embraced for a moment, and I had a sad reminder of what it was like to be with Isaac. If I didn't like Stiles so much, I would have definitely stayed with him.

"I should...I should get going," Isaac responded as we seperated. "Is Stiles treating you well?"

"Of course," I lied.

"Good. If he doesn't, you know where to find me."

I laughed. "Hopefully it won't come to that."

The next day, I was almost late to school because I got caught up with trying to get a hold of Stiles that I forgot to turn on my alarm. That meant I didn't have time to find Stiles and ask him what he was doing last night that was so important to ignore me. So, I decided to talk to him in Coach Finstock's  class. I sat right next to him and slammed my binder on my desk loudly to get his attention.

"Why weren't you answering my calls last night?" I asked harshly.

"Oh...um...I was at...a party...at an old friend's house," he replied sheepishly.

"Seriously?" I exclaimed. "And you forgot to invite me?"

"Yes..." he said unsuredly.

"What happened at the party?" I demanded.

"Nothing! Nothing at all!"

He responded fairly quickly, which concerned me. But before I could question him further, Coach walked in and started class.

"The stock market is based on two principles-what are they?"

I raised my hand just as Scott did. I smiled slightly. He must have been studying.

"Yes, McCall, you can go to the bathroom, Anybody else?" Coach said.

"Uh, no, Coach- I know the answer," Scott told him.

Coach laughed for a moment. "Oh, you're serious."

"Yes. Risk and reward."

I put my hand down.
