"Let's go find Scott," Stiles suggested quickly. "This place gives me the creeps. And I found a coyote den nearby."

"Agreed. Follow me."

I turned into a white wolf and quickly searched for Scott. We ran all over the place, avoiding branches, bushes, rocks and ravines. It was dark and there were all sorts of sounds and smells that I couldn't find Scott. So, we kept running until luck brought us together, Stiles letting out a shout of surprise.

"Oh!"

I became human as we regrouped.

"I think I found something," Stiles told Scott and we followed him to the den. "It's a coyote den."

"Werecoyote," Scott and I corrected simultaneously as we slowly entered, shining our flashlights.

"You see this?" Stiles said, picking up a sweatshirt. "This is Malia's. Remember? It's the same one she was wearing in the photo."

"We shouldn't be in here," Scott responded uneasily.

"What do you mean?"

"She's not going to come back now. We just invaded her home- our scent's going to be everywhere."

"Coyotes don't like other creatures in their dens, especially wolves," I added.

"If she's not going to come back here, where's she going to go?" Stiles asked.

"I don't know."

"Can either of you track her now? You think you got her scent?"

"Maybe..."

"Possibly..."

"But I'm better at this when I'm a full wolf," Scott explained. "And I'm still worried that if I do it, I won't be able to turn back."

Stiles sighed. "The door's still open."

"I can do it, but I need some much needed rest before I am ready," I replied with a long yawn.

"If I can't get to Derek," Scott continued, "we're gonna have to find someone else to help. This is basically a crime scene, right? I think it might be a little out of our boss' league..."

"...And more in my dad's," Stiles stated.

Shortly after Stiles called his dad, the police were swarming the area. The three of us met with Sheriff Stilinski in private, telling him everything that had happened after he looked at the den.

"You're sure it was her?" the Sheriff clarified.

"I looked her right in the eyes, and they glowed, just like mine."

"It makes sense, Dad," Stiles said.

"But it wasn't a girl- it was a four-legged coyote, right?"

I sighed as Stiles said, "Well, okay ... But yeah, see, that's the point that we don't exactly have figured out yet."

"Okay, but if it was a full moon, and she did change while her mom was driving, then anything could have happened," Scott reasoned.

"Horrible things could have happened! Ripping, shredding, tearing things-"

"-Which is probably what caused the accident," I concluded.

"Think about it, Dad, all right? They're driving. Malia starts to change. She goes out of control, the mom crashes, and everybody dies-"

"-Except for Malia," I stated as Stiles continued.

"She blames herself, all right? Goes off running into the woods, and eventually... becomes trapped inside the body of a coyote."
