*Author's Note: This is kinda a short chapter, but more will be on its way!*

After that nightmare last night, the identity of the Alpha finally confirmed, it was finally the weekend. I was determined to enjoy myself, for once, to take my mind off of...everything. But I can never be left alone, can I? I guess that must be part of being a Luna Wolf. Scott called me later in the evening, and he sounded worried.

"Melody, I need your help," Scott said frantically. "Peter Hale is taking my mom out and he's going to turn her into a Werewolf."

"Okay, what do you need me to do?"

"Stiles is coming to pick you up. You need to stop them."

I heard a horn blare outside my house. "You got it."

I hung up and ran outside. I hopped into the Jeep and we were on our way.

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"To crash into Peter's vehicle."

"Stiles, are you insane?"

"It's only going to be a small tap, just enough to cause a slight problem."

"Are you sure?"

"It's all I got."

That didn't make me feel any better. I hid in the back of the jeep when Stiles bumped into Peter's car...which was parked on the side of the road. As Stiles went to apologize, I snuck out of the jeep, spotting Scott. I quietly approached him as we watched the scene unfold.

"Nicely done, Scott," we heard Peter mutter with our increased hearing. "I know Melody's there too. It's too bad most teenagers aren't that smart. It's like that one on the lacrosse team-Jackson." We turned to each other, worried. "Thinks he knows all about us. You know how they say 'Knowledge is power?' Not in this case."

"Jackson," I whispered. "He's going after Derek."

"Oh, no," Scott said and we quietly ran off, heading straight to the Hale house. We ran at a steady pace together, making it to the house before anyone else did. Scott hid upstairs while I hid in the next room over. It wasn't long until I heard voices...Derek and Jackson.

"I-I remember the staircase...I remember these-these walls...I remember everything," Jackson stammered.

"You've been here?" Derek asked.

"No, never. I dreamt it." Jackson sounded scared. "No, please. Please don't, okay? I'll shut up- I'll never say another word again. I'll leave Scott alone. Please, you can't do this! Please! I-I don't deserve it-"

"I think you do."

"N-no!"

"Look around you!" Derek shouted angrily. "Wouldn't there be someone here trying to save you? There's no one here. There is a reason. No one cares that you drive an expensive car. No one cares that you have perfect hair, and no one cares that you're captain of the lacrosse team."

I know Jackson can be a jerk, but once you get to know him, he's a bit better. And he doesn't deserve to die.

"Excuse me," I heard Scott say. "Co-captain."

I took that as my cue to come out. Scott and Derek were facing each other, growling furiously while Jackson was slowly backing away. I quietly ran over to Jackson.

"Get up," I told him.

"Melody? What are you-"

We were interupted when a bright flash filled the room.

"The Hunters...they're here."

I grabbed Jackson's hand and lead him out of the house. Once we were far enoguh away, I let go and we stopped.

"Keep going. The school is straight ahead," I told him.

"Wait. Where are you going?"

"To get help."

"You shouldn't go alone! What if you get hurt? What if those guys find you?"

I looked Jackson in the eyes. "Trust me. I'll be careful. Go."

I left him before he could ask any more questions. I ran straight to the animal  clinic, bursting through the front door. "Deaton! Scott's in trouble."

"I know. I need you to find him," Deaton said, already prepared to leave.

"What?"

"I need you to focus, Melody. Focus on Scott...his pain."

"Okay." I closed my eyes, feeling Scott's pain...his sorrow...for leaving Allison. I opened my eyes, staring into the night sky, vision slighly blurry. A tear dropped from my eye.

"I know where he is."

When we arrived at the location, I gasped. Scott had bullet wounds in his chest, blood dripping from his mouth. Deaton carefully picked up Scott.

"Stop," he groaned.

"It's all right, Scott. You're gonna be all right."

Once we were back at the clinic, I cleared off the examination table and Deaton laid him on it.

"Melody, I need a bottle of antiseptic, clean cloths, and a tray."

I gathered everything and watched Deaton take out the bullets. I gripped Scott's hand, taking as much pain as I could from him. Afterwards, I carefully dabbbed at his wounds with antiseptic. Scott's eyes slowly opened and he tried to sit up, but winced in pain. I put a hand on his shoulder, pushing him back.

"I wouldn't get up just yet," Deaton said, entering the room.

"Where am I?" he asked groggily.

"It's okay, Scott. You're safe," I told him quietly.

"And I've given you someting that should speed up the healing process."

"But...you're a vet."

I carefully held his hand again, secretly taking his pain once more.

"That's very true-and ninety-percent of the time, I'm mostly treating cats and dogs."

"Mostly?"

He nodded. "Mostly."
