I was trying to sleep, but my phone wouldn't stop buzzing. I tried to ignore it, too lazy to turn it off, but it kept going. Finally, I blindly reached for my phone and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Melody. You need to come down to the school right now."

"Why? Did something happen?" I said, bolting up in my bed, fully awake.

"No. But it's Mischief Night/Day and, by a perfectly awesome coincidence, it also happens to be Coach's birthday."

"What?" I replied, slumping back into my covers. "Why are you doing this in the middle of the night?"

"Because we would get caught if we didn't! Come on, we do this every year for Coach."

I slowly started to change out of my pajamas. "Stilinski, you're insane."

"I know. Now come down here right now or I will destroy you, okay?"

"Sure you will," I said sarcastically as I ran out of my front door, meeting up with Scott. I was informed beforehand of this tradition by Scott, and we both agreed to give Stiles a little scare before we helped him.

"I'm dead serious. So, if you are not down here in five seconds, I will destroy you both. And I mean five, four, three, two-"

Stiles turned around just as Scott and I arrived, our eyes glowing in the dark and he fell to the floor, scaring the crap out of him. Scott and I smiled, high fiving each other.

"One," I finished.

"I hate you," Stiles said. "Both of you."

We laughed before getting to work in Coach's office. The next day, I got up early to hide in Stiles' Jeep, wanting to cause some mischief and give him a gift of my affection, for being a patient and understanding boyfriend. The moment Stiles opened the door, I leaped out from behind the seats, crying, "Boo!"

He fell face first in his seat, screaming slightly. "Melody?!"

"Surprise," I smirked as I hopped to the front passenger seat.

"Good thing I love you, or you would be dead by now," Stiles teased.

"Oh really? You think you can take me?" I said, leaning closer to him.

"Yes... I mean, of course," he replied unsurely, craving for a kiss.

"Well, if you're so sure, maybe you don't deserve the gift I brought you," I said, sitting back. "Let's get to school."

"No! I want... the gift. School can wait," Stiles argued.

I smiled. "Fine. Close your eyes."

"What?"

"Stilinski, close 'em," I repeated.

When he did, I reached behind my seat to grab an aluminum bat with a purple ribbon tied on the end. I retrieved it from the root cellar where his dad, Mrs. McCall and Mr. Argent were kept when Jennifer tried to sacrifice them. I thought he would like it back. And I even wrote a little note on it, which said, "Ever since I met you, I knew you were the one," with a heart and my signature after it.

"How long do I have to keep my eyes closed?" Stiles complained. "We're going to be late for-" I cut him off with a kiss.

"You can open them now," I told him, holding up the bat as he did.

"My baseball bat."

"I managed to find it buried under some rubble," I explained. "Thought you would want it back... with a few changes."
