I've been avoiding Stiles all day. After he abandoned me at the party the other night, I didn't feel like talking to him, even though he attempted to talk to me multiple times. After school, I watched the lacrosse team practice, mainly to keep an eye on Scott. He was a new werewolf after all, and I think I would be a better tutor then sourpuss Derek. He just gets on my nerves, despite the fact I must have known him once. Scott was doing well until Coach yelled at him. I heard his pulse quicken as he got back in line. On his turn, he charged forward, knocking Jackson to the ground very aggressively. Everyone began to gather around their team captain while Stiles went to Scott. I watched them run back to the locker room, passing Derek Hale, who must have seen the entire thing. I glared at him and he glared back before I ran after the boys. I was about to knock on the door to make sure they weren't...undressed when I heard an angry voice roar, "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

I took that as my cue to enter. I found Scott, transformed and hopping on top of the lockers, most likely going after Stiles. I quietly followed him, finding Stiles before he did. He was running for his life and tripped over his own feet. I rushed forward, dragging him to his feet as I looked up at Scott. I made my eyes glow purple, staring intensely at Scott before pushing Stiles forward to hide behind some lockers. We silently waited, scrunched up against each other, not daring to move a muscle. That's when everything went quiet.

"Stiles?" Scott called out softly. He carefully peeked around the corner to check on Scott. Then, he got up, helping me to my feet and we approached Scott, who was crouched on the floor, back to normal and slightly dazed. "What happened?

"You tried to kill me. And you almost succeeded if Melody hadn't come to save me."

Scott looked at me with gratitude.

"It's like I told you before," Stiles continued grimly. "It's the anger, it's your pulse rising. It's a trigger."

"But that's lacrosse," Scott said tiredly. "It's a pretty violent game, if you haven't noticed."

"Well, it's gonna be a lot more violent if you end up killing someone on the field," Stiles stated.

"You shouldn't play Saturday," I said. "Not unless you can learn to control your pulse."

"I'm first line-"

"Not anymore."

Once Scott was okay, I decided to leave, needing some time alone to think about how to help Scott...and get away from Stiles. Monroes are known to hold a grudge, and I wasn't ready to talk to him. I was about to unlock my front door of my house when I spotted Derek Hale walking out of the preserve, heading into town. I entered and locked the door. What was with that guy? I feel like I see him everywhere now. Anyways, I started on my homework as a distraction. I barely finished when Allison called.

"Hey, Allison." I said as I put my homework away.

"Melody, are you okay? You didn't seem yourself today. Are you avoiding someone?"

"Oh, uh, what makes you say that?" I asked nervously.

"You kept ducking or hiding behind me or someone else."

"I'm fine, really."

"Who are you avoiding?"

"No one in particular," I lied.

"Fine. You don't have to tell me. But I'm inviting you to the lacrosse game on Saturday. Afterwards, you are coming with me and some friends to go out. You need to be more social, make some friends, have fun! That way, your anxiety can improve."

"But-"

"No buts. Cancel any plans you had previously. You are coming, even if I have to drag you there myself."
