Chapter 10: Soulmates: part 2

Mikasa burst into the classroom and went to go grab her bag. She went through all her essentials, as she finally took out that was the bottom, her old red scarf that she used to wear. Even though Mikasa stopped talking to Eren, she never gave up her precious scarf. It meant to much to her, and she always had this to remember Eren by. She then hid it, and bolted out the classroom and went to go find Eren.

Meanwhile outside, Eren was slouched up against a concrete wall with the bloody glass next to his hand as the vital fluid dripped down his face as he felt like this was a soothing kind of pain, with his eyes half-open. But then he heard a voice too familiar to him, which made his heavy eyelids open up.

"Eren!!" Hearing that voice his head turned to the side seeing a distressed Mikasa come running over, with a frightened look in her eyes. "Mi—Mikasa...?" He weakly said as she skidded onto the ground, looking down at the bloodied soulless person.

"EREN!! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO YOURSELF?!?!" Mikasa screamed at him seeing his bloodied face as he just stared straight ahead out into the horizon. "I cut my forehead open Mikasa, what does it look like." Eren said nonchalantly. "WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!" Mikasa shouted as Eren looked at her with tears rapidly pouring down his face as he raised his voice a little too, choking back a sob.

"BECAUSE I JUST THOUGHT THAT MY LIFE WASN'T WORTH LIVING ANYMORE!! BESIDES WHY DO YOU CARE ANYWAY?!?! YOU DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ME!!"

"YES I DO EREN, I—"

"NO SHUT UP!! SAY ANOTHER WORD AND I'LL TAKE THIS GLASS AND JUST SLIT MY WRIST IF YOU DON—"

"I LOVE YOU!!"

Eren then fell silent dropping the shard of glass, as he couldn't believe what he had just heard. "Wha—what? You- you love me? No, you don't, don't try using that as a way to get my atten-" "I left Jean! I found out he was cheating on me, and I went crazy at him for it!" Mikasa confessed as Eren wasn't surprised at all.

"...well, I'm glad you're away from him now."

"You really hurt me Eren, it broke my heart to hear you say those words... but I deserved it after all the things I put you and Armin through!" 

Eren's heart sunk when Mikasa said this, she felt so guilty about what she did, but Eren knew his words were just as cruel and unnecessary. "N-no, I'm sorry Mikasa, I should know never have spoken to you like that... I was just so frustrated and upset with you."

Mikasa then broke apart from him as she sat against the concrete wall with him, as she lent her head into him. "Mikasa, there is one thing I need to know, why did you stop talking to me? And why only now confess these feelings towards me?" He asked as Mikasa then looked to the side, scratching the back of her neck. She dreaded revealing the truth to Eren as she knew instantly he would get worried sick.

"When my father and mother had met, he treated her like a puppy on a leash and never let her do anything. And I was afraid I'd go through that with you, and I didn't want to be treated the same way my mother was." Mikasa explained to him, as Eren looked down slightly, seeing his blood trickle down onto his hands.

"Mikasa... I would never do that to you, I would never in a million years do that to you. I cared about you and that's genuinely what you thought about me?!" Eren questioned, as Mikasa felt so guilty about this and wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole.

"I know, and I'm so sorry! I just wished... that... I never moved away from you, you're my world Eren, and you're one of the only homes I have left, and I would hate to lose you." But Mikasa then felt Eren's bloody hand cup her face as he smiled sadly.
