Morning rose upon the horizon, with the sun beaming into Mikasa's room, the sun illuminating the little girl's face. Her hair was sprawled out along her pillow as she drooled onto it. Her buzzing alarm then went off, causing her heavy eyelids to force themselves open, as much as they didn't want to.
She then moved onto her back as she stretched her exhausted and rubbed her eyes.
"Mikasa! Honey, are you awake?!" A Female voice called from downstairs, as Mikasa smiled weakly hearing that lovely voice.
"Yeah, Mom! I'll be down in a minute!" Mikasa replied, her mouth feeling dry and tasteless.
Mikasa's mother, Anne Ackerman, was very kind and cheerful and wanted the best for her daughter. Anne's ex-husband, Eric, came from a clan known as the Ackermans. Although their origins are unknown, the last known sighting was seventy-eight years ago, when humanity faced a crisis where the Ackermans needed to take action.
Supposedly it was said that all decedents of the Ackerman clan were all but extinct. But that was wrong, with Eric being one of the many remaining decedents of the Ackermans of this century. After discovering what Eric was involved in, Anne did not want their daughter to be dragged into this bloody revolution, and took her daughter away from Eric, and locked away anything that resembled that god-forsaken clan.
Their power was unlike anyone else could imagine. But they were very strong on keeping the secret of their power hidden from people outside of their clan.
Mikasa then got up, walked over to her dressing table and looked at the gift she got for Eren. Two weeks had passed since Mikasa kissed Eren, and she couldn't help be feel ecstatic knowing she had grown a crush on Eren. The two had grown close with each other, with Eren becoming the most important person in Mikasa's life, besides her mother. The present was wrapped up neatly in pink, with a red ribbon tied on the top.
She then looked at the tag seeing Eren's name with a heart next to it, as she smiled warmly at it. Today was Valentine's Day, Mikasa's favourite time of the year. A time to bond and love and show each other how deeply they care and love you.
"Come on Mikasa! Your breakfast is getting cold!" Anne called again, as Mikasa unfroze from gazing at Eren's gift and went downstairs to the kitchen. Mikasa walked in seeing her mother making her breakfast, as she turned around looked at Mikasa, and smiled warmly.
"Good morning Miki, how'd you sleep?" Anne asked, her voice smooth and calm. Anne's nickname for Mikasa was Miki, the reason being was when she was just a baby, she called her, her little Miki as she thought she was the cutest little thing in the whole world.
"It was okay Mom, you?" Mikasa asked with a happy smile, making her mother look in awe at her, as Anne always enjoyed seeing her little Mikasa's smile.
"It could've been better, thanks. So.... how are things with you and Eren lately?" She asked, as Mikasa looked away pausing herself, as she found it hard to talk about this sort of thing with her mother.
"They're okay," Mikasa simply said, trying to hide her awkwardness from her.
"Has he talked about the kiss at all?" Anne asked as Mikasa's skin went pale, as she was nervous about touching on this subject. "W-well, he hasn't brought it up. Why are you asking?" She asked curiously, as Anne put down the kettle and sat next to her daughter, wrapping a loving arm around her shoulder.
"Because you know what I think? I think he hasn't brought it up because... he's scared that he might do something that will make you move away from him." She explained to her as Mikasa looked down softly, her lips drooping down forming a sad face.
"Mikasa? Honey, what's wrong?" Anne asked worriedly, seeing the discomfort her daughter was displaying.
"It's just that... I'm feeling some sort of way about him, Mom. But I don't understand it, and I'm afraid if I say something, Eren will look at me like a freak." Mikasa confessed as Anne softened her face, cupping Mikasa's cheek.
