Winter.

As he walked beside Yeonjun down the street, Soobin wished it was winter.

They could go iceboarding. Or skating. Not to mention the fact that Soobin was a failure at it.
Or they could drink hot chocolate.

Winter back in Korea was too eventful, things are usually not different in the States either.
Soobin could do anything to keep himself preoccupied.

Because right now, for the last hour he had been doing nothing but stealing glances at his former boyfriend.

Yeonjun had caught him once. Only once. And he had smiled back. And for that he is grateful.

Yeonjun had asked about Beomgyu. And Taehyun. And Hueningkai. And the hyungs.
Soobin had answered that they were fine. All of them.

He chose not to tell him that they were more or less angry at him. Or remorseful.
Except Huening. Huening could never hate anyone.

"Forget him, Soobin!! I don't want you to cry for him again! Forget him!", Jin shouted at him.
"He is not worth it, kid." Yoongi spoke.
"You remember what happened to Huening, right? You remember what he did, right?! Ning had never touched alcohol ever in his life! Do you not remember what he did, Soobin?!!" Hoseok screamed.

"We don't mention his name here, hyung." Beomgyu muttered out, stoic.

"Soobin?"

Soobin snapped out of his train of thoughts, when Yeonjun called him.

"Yes, hyung?" He managed to croak out.
Yeonjun eyed him doubtfully.

"You okay?"

Am I?
What a joke.

"Fine, hyung. Just... lost in thoughts."
"Hmm."

They were standing opposite to a cafe. All the brown, chestnut shades and a white banner that spelt out, "Réjouir".

"Rejoice."
Soobin spoke out.

Yeonjun glanced at him warily.
"You remember? French?"

Soobin nodded.
"Hard to forget."

Yeonjun hummed and asked.
"Where is she?"
"Home."

Yeonjun shifted uncomfortably.
"They took her back?"

Soobin chuckled lowly.
"You know her better, hyung."

Oh yes, he did. Yeonjun knew Park Noah like the back of his hand. She would never go back to the family who disowned her when odds went against her favour. He had once asked her how she is so strong.

"It's pretty simple, Jun. You stop trying to be a king. Instead you be a warrior."

Yeonjun stared at her in questioning.

"You fight. Doesn't matter if you win or not. A warrior always fight. Even when he knows it might be his last. Even if he knows it would be a failure, he won't go down without a fight."

"I hope she is happy. Wherever she is."

Soobin slid his hands into his coat pockets. Suddenly it felt cold for him.

"She is in Seoul."

Yeonjun turned at him, surprised.

"Seoul was her home after all."

Yeonjun nodded and smiled.
"Let's go, Bin."

And Soobin followed.
