For a second, Yeonjun had thought twice about going to Genevieve's performance at the dance school. He didn't want her and Leo to feel bad, and for that sole reason, he had agreed to do it.

The reason why he had to take a double take, involved a bunny.

2020

Yeonjun was in the kitchen, when Soobin walked upto him and creeped his arms around the elder's waist and nuzzled his neck. Yeonjun was a little startled that he almost dropped the pasta. He did NOT want to repeat that one fallen aglio e olio episode.

Soobin gently kissed the smooth flesh of his boyfriend's neck and breathed in his scent. Lemons.

"Ok, what do you want?", Yeonjun asked turning back to face the other, his own hands reaching up to circle Soobin's neck.

Soobin gave him a cheeky smile and a pout.

"I want to watch Black Swan."

"The music video or the movie?"

Their seniors had just released the music video of Black Swan, that had left him enraptured, especially Jimin's dance. And damn, his wings.

Soobin shook his head in denial, and said, "I heard there is a dance performance. What the movie is based on."

"Swan Lake."

"Yeah that one."

"That thing is over two hours long. And you do realise there is a pandemic goin' on. We can't watch it on a stage."

"But hyung, I wanna watch it. Video's fine. Please, please."

Whiny Soobin is a weakness to everyone.

Yeonjun included.

"Fine we will watch it on Youtube.", said Yeonjun and Soobin gave a wry smile.

"And Soobinnie, I can't guarantee that you won't fall asleep in the middle of it." Soobin shook his head, excited and smiling, his dimples showing. Yeonjun poked a finger to one of them, and had Soobin giggling.

"I wanna watch it in a big screen."

Yeonjun wasted no time in calling Jungkook and ask him permission to use the mini theatre in his apartment, for watching Swan Lake.

"No funny business," Jungkook had said.

Yeonjun knew Soobin wouldn't last the first scene, and expected him to doze off, but was met with an extensively focused Soobin, who didn't even blink when the scene switched. He actually saw Soobin drumming his fingers when Dance with Goblets played. And the occasional "Woow!!", "How do they remember all these moves?!!", "Won't they fall?!".

When the familiar Leitmotif, the Swan's theme started playing at the second scene of Act I, Soobin shifted his eyes to Yeonjun, who gave him a slight nod and a smile. Soobin knew Yeonjun loved the theme; he had many a time seen the elder play the notes in Kai's piano, mostly when no one was watching. Yeonjun had once told him it gave him a very different level of serenity.

Soobin startled a little bit when Rothbart entered, his dark clothes in stark contrast with the rest, villainy personified.

Yeonjun saw Soobin awestruck at the clarity and perfection of the dancers, when the Dance of the Swans came up. Their bodies symbolizing the elegance of a swan, en pointe at perfect timings. Odette was a masterpiece, for Soobin. He watched as she unfolded herself into the human form, the swan princess.

The Dance of the Little Swans had Soobin literally drooling over the flawless steps. He realised if one of them faltered everytjing would go wrong. A matter of trust more than talent. Just like some of their own choreography.

He loved the different dance forms at Prince Seigfried's palace, especially the Spanish dance. And it dawned on him, that each and every dancer in the act looked like literal gods and goddesses.

Visuals, man.

And when Rothbart showed up with Odile, Yeonjun noticed Soobin was about to throw hands.

In Soobin's perspective, it would be a lie to say he wasn't fascinated by Odile. He noticed the stark contrast between Odette, the swan princess and Odile, the black swan.

Odette was pure, untouched, sensitive and kind.

Odile was ambitious and selfish, but her unprecedented beauty and charisma parred everything.

She was the Black Swan.

She was unpredictable.

Soobin couldn't get his mind off of the Black Swan. The duality of it. The amount of sheer emotional and physical effort and mastery, the dancer had to put in to potray the two opposite aspects.

And the way Odette performed the despair and anguish after seeing the prince with Odile, had Soobin almost crying. Crying for sometjing so timeless.

So classic.

The Finale had Siegfried cut the wings of Rothbart and eventually he was united with Odette. And Soobin cried happy tears.

Funny, Yeonjun had seen the original ending, where both of them die. He chose not to let out that fact to his lover.

Soobin glanced at him and let out a genuine smile. Yeonjun knew the other needed a hug and swooped in for just that. Soobin hugged him back with equal force, and kissed his hyung's neck.

They pulled away and Yeonjun dove back for a kiss, savouring the pillowy lips of his lover. Soobin felt absolutely content as he allowed the other to explore his sweet cavern.

Soobin flexed his legs and placed himself on Yeonjun's lap.

Yeonjun smirked at him.
"JK hyung said no funny business."

Soobin gave a blank look and smirked back, " Well let's do something serious then."

And boom went Yeonjun's phone, Jungkook was calling him. He laughed and pushed Soobin back in the couch, who gave a very devastating pout.

Jungkook came in with Taehyung bearing bags of food, and yanked the two juniors inside when they were about to leave. They ate, laughed, and ended up sleeping in the living room, Jungkook giving one last smile to Yeonjun before cuddling Taehyung. Yeonjun, smiled back and smiled to himself. Holding his lover close.

Yeonjun snapped back to the present, on hearing his phone ring. It was Leo.

He answered, telling him that he would be out in 15 minutes.

Yeonjun sat back in his bed.

Which ending would I want? He asked himself.

Was that even a question?

______________

I cannot believe I just watched 2 hours of Swan Lake Ballet for this one.
But it was worth it, I loved every second of it.
Do forgive my mistakes.
