Present.
Yeonjun was running late. He had a class in 10 minutes, and considering his students they would literally send a search party if he is late by 5 minutes. It actually happened once, and Yeonjun had ended up in the missing person list. He had stopped fretting about it only when they promised to but him chicken.
(Why is it always chicken?)
But he desperately needed his coffee right now.
Desperate as in he would fall and sleep on the road if he didn't get a sip.Jennie was the one who usually made his coffee, whenever he had a class to teach. But today, she was, let's say, unapproachable.
Periods, thats the word. She would go, "You can call me monster" mode if anyone tries to talk to her.
Yeonjun had once got the taste of her wrath and had to witness about 4 hours of her murdering glaring and swear words. Yeah...
But he still loves her. Period or no period.Back to Yeonjun.
He managed to reach the opposite side of the coffee shop.
He was practically running for his coffee almost blindly, that he did not see a tall figure coming out of the shop.Boom.
Yeonjun swore he saw images of twinkling coffee cups dancing around his head, and he was brought back to reality by an extended hand and a deep voiced sorry.
In French.
"Oh mon dieu! Je suis désolé!"
Yeonjun looked up.
The man had long golden hair hanging upto his shoulders. He wore a beige coat and black shirt, along with a checkered brown scarf.
His face was strong. Defined. Gorgeous. But all he could think of were those eyes.
Ocean blue eyes.Could he drown in them? When once, a pair of brown eyes had swallowed him whole?
Yeonjun took his hand and got up, dusting off and finally getting a closer look at the one who knocked him down.
He spoke again.
"I am really sorry. I should have been more careful."
His words were a little accented. They were tinged with a little mystery and a little flirting?
"Umm, no, actually, I should say sorry. I was dying for a cup and dashed in. I didn't see you. I am very sorry."
The other man smiled and looked down at their still linked arms.
Yeonjun suddenly withdrew his hands and blushed a little."Well, if I am not being too forward, maybe I could buy you a coffee."
Yeonjun was starstruck.
Ok, what now?!
Yeonjun glanced at his watch. Well, he was already late.
Yeah, a coffee from a complete stranger who spoke French and knocked him down is not awkward at all.
Nope. Not at all.
He nodded to the tall male and the other's face lit up with a smile.
◇
Leo Marcell. That was his name. He was a student in the University of California, learning art. He had moved here 5 years back and was staying at his grandmother's.
Yeonjun did ask him if he knew him.
"Of course I do."
Yeonjun eyed him doubtfully, searching in those blue eyes.
"I figured you would feel uncomfortable if asked about that part of your life. Besides, I am not sure if I want to know about it."
And after that, all that Leo gave him was a smile.
"So you draw people?"
Leo looked up from coffee and smiled. He then produced a sketchbook from his brown satchel and handed it to Yeonjun.
