Denki, Don't Do This Please

Are You Ready?

Mr. Aizawa was in the process of restraining Todoroki with his blinding cloth as Y/N tried to make her way around for a sneak attack. Unfortunately, not only was their teacher stealthy, but he could locate other people who were trying to be stealthy relatively easy. It didn't help that Y/N would never be that quiet. It's just not what her quirk allowed her to do.

She sees Mr. Aizawa move away from Todorki and try to make his way to Y/N what he didn't anticipate was that the pair had planned for this situation. As the teacher ran towards Y/N she took off running. The goal was to lead him down an alley with prepared obstacles that could reduce his line of sight.

"I sure you hope you have a better plan than hoping I don't catch up to you, Y/N. You're a much more rational student than that."

Y/N smirked as she turned the corner and proceeded down the alley. She dodged behind a dumpster and waited for Pro-Hero to appear. He carefully started to examine the alley. He started to make his way down when he saw a cloth drop from above he made a move to dodge out of the way and as he did Y/N popped out from behind and tackled him with a tarp. He held on to him as best she could and managed to pull out the cuffs and slap them to his wrist.

The signal to the end of the match had gone off. Mr. Aizawa and Y/N walked to Todoroki, and the teacher started to untie the dual haired teen.

"It was smart to create a distraction in the alley. You two realized early that you wouldn't be able to depend on quirks because of me. I take back my statement about you not acting rationally, Y/N."

She smiled at the compliment and felt relieved. As she exited the test area a loud blonde tackled her with a hug.

"My girlfriend is so freaking hot!"

Y/N laughed and felt her cheeks heat up with a blush. Denki was adorable when he was excited.

"Are you ready for your match? You're going to be next after Uraraka and Aoyama."

The electric blonde flashed her a bright smile and gave her a thumbs up.

"No worries, Sunshine! I've got this."

She was glad that Denki felt confident because Y/N was nervous for him. Nezu won't be easy she was sure of it. She also didn't like when he said they didn't have a plan. He didn't think things through in her mind.

"Are you fighting or running?" she asks concerned.

Mina jumps over to the pair and smiles.

"We're going to decide when we see what he plans to do."

Y/N rubbed her face with her hand. This was not going to go well, and she was glad that she had not been paired with the two free spirits for her final. Their cavalier attitude was going to be an issue.

The alarm signaled for the completion of the match. Y/N ran to Denki and kissed him on the cheek. The blonde looked at her and smiled.

"It's for luck."

Deni watched Y/n walk away and he felt embarrassed about what he was about to do. He was willingly going to throw this match. It's not really what he wanted to do in front of his girlfriend, but he took a deep breath and made his way into the arena.

Watching from the control room Y/N can see Denki and Mina walking together. It's plain to see they don't have a plan and are waiting for trouble to find them. She notices as the pair stops walking. They hear loud noises and start to look around them. Then debris starts falling and the pair take off running to avoid it.

Y/N has a feeling this isn't going to end well. She's pulled away from the screen when she hears Tsu.

"They're not getting a chance to form a strategy, Ribbit."

Y/N lets out a sigh.

"I tried to tell them to come up with something before they went in, but they didn't listen."

Tsu places a hand on Y/N's shoulder.

"There wasn't anything you could do to help them. It was up to them in the end."

The h/c haired girl smiled at her friend.

"I know. Denki needs to learn to take things more seriously. He's not as dumb as he acts. It's almost like he does it on purpose."

The pair continue to watch and see Mina burn a hole in a wall to try and make a path to the exit, but Nezu anticipates their movement. He buries them in a pile of rubble. Y/N looks worried as she tries to see Denki in the cloud of dust.

"You really like him, don't you Y/N."

She looks over to her best friend and gives a soft smile.

"Don't tell him, but I think I'm in love with him."

The frog-like girl smiles and continues to stand by her friend as they wait for Denki and Mina to make their way back to the control room.

After a few minutes, the doors open and a defeated Denki and Mina enter. At this point, the electric blonde felt awful. He wasn't acting once the debris had started falling. He's not sure he could have passed that examination even if he was putting in 100%.

Looking around the control room he was relieved to see Y/N. He walked over to her and she immediately engulfed him into a hug.

"It'll be okay. You tried and that's what counts." She softly whispered in his ear.

A warmth filled Denki's chest as he hugged her tightly. She always made him feel special. Even when he fucks up. She gave him unconditional love and it made him want to stay with her forever.

"Sunshine, you are the best thing that has ever come into my life."

Pulling away from Denki she looks into his eyes and smiles. Their moment was then abruptly interrupted by a hand chopping down between the two.

"Please keep public displays of affection outside of the classroom. It's distracting to the other students."

Y/N looks at Lida and frowns.

"It was a hug. It'll be okay."

Lida crosses his arms and huffs.

"I assure you to everyone looking it was more than just a hug."

Denki smirks as he wraps his arm around Y/N's shoulder.

"Are you jealous? We could probably set you up with someone. Y/N, isn't Tsu your best friend?"

Y/N starts to laugh and Tsu gives Denki a deadpan look.

"I'm fine, ribbit."

Lida frowns and walks away without saying anything else.

Watching Lida start to talk to Midoryia she looks back to Denki.

"I think you might have hurt his feelings. I thought for sure he would have said something about relationships being frivolous pursuits or something."

With his arm still around her, he leans in and kisses her temple.

"I don't think it was me that made him quiet. I think it was Tsu's rejection."

The couple then continued to watch the rest of the matches. The rest of the day was quiet and everyone was thankful that their exams were over. They would have to wait until Monday to get their results, but some already knew where they stood.

Denki knew that he had failed the practical, but he was confident he did well enough on the written to be able to still go to the summer training. He was hopeful that Shigaraki was going to give him the details of their plan soon. It was making him nervous to not know what his plan was and not know how he could protect Y/N. All he could do for now was follow orders and so he made his way home reflecting on the events of the day.
