Oh, So Lonely

Sitting at the bar at the League's hideout Denki started thinking to himself about the events that had happened recently. His plan to show attachment to someone in his class was working. Y/N seemed to be quite smitten with him. A small smile form on his lips as he thought about the time that they had shared recently.

He would be lying if he said he hadn't enjoyed Y/N's company. The life he was living was secretive, and he often felt lonely and empty. He had his friends at school, but he couldn't really think of them in terms of friends. He was on a mission and so he had to keep them at arm's length. The league was also not a place for friendships because, well, they're villains. Plus, most of them were never at the hideout anyway even if he did want to try to make friends.

"Kaminari, do you have any updates?" Shigaraki questioned looking at the blonde.

Denki looked over at the blue-haired man in front of him scratching at his neck like a crack addict.

"Not at the moment. Like, I said before the next big event will be the sport's festival."

Shigaraki was deep in thought for a moment. He knew the sport's festival was a big deal for UA.

"Remember the plan we discussed. You are to observe the events. Look for any weaknesses in the classes we haven't had already concluded from before. Also, look out for any threats we haven't considered from other classes."

Denki knew the plan already. He was aware of his objectives, and this should be a relatively easy task to accomplish.

"Yeah, I know. Don't worry I'm more than capable. Since that's all I have for now I'm going to get going. I'm still a student and I can't be flunking out of the program. So, if you excuse me, I have some math problems to work on."

Shigaraki stopped the blonde wanting to discuss one last thing.

"Before you go, I have a question."

Denki rolled his eyes. He had lied. He'd already finished his homework, but he didn't feel like hanging out there all night. He just wanted to go home.

"Were you able to find a girl to be your pretend girlfriend?"

Shigaraki knew about Denki's plan and he felt it was also a good idea. The blonde had shown he could put on quite the act while not getting attached to anyone. He expected this to be no different.

"I've started spending some time with L/N F/N. She's the one with the fireball quirk we've talked about. After I evaluated the girls in our class, she seemed the most logical choice. She seems to really like me. I haven't asked her to be my girlfriend yet, but I plan on doing so at the sport's festival. I can make it all dramatic at some point I'm sure."

The answer he gave was straight forward and he showed no sign of emotion towards the girl as he spoke to his boss. Y/N was going to be his cover, and he needed her to love him. He knew that adrenaline can be a catalyst for such emotion and the sports festival would give him that opportunity.

"Good. I want a progress report the next time we speak. You can leave now."

Shigaraki waved him off and Denki made his way out of the old bar waving behind him as he left to acknowledge his statement.

Denki continued walking down the street headed home when he realized he needed to stop at the store and pick up some food. His mom was once again working late, and he was in charge of his own dinner.

Walking into the store he grabbed some instant ramen and made his way to the chips. As he was scanning the shelf someone started talking beside him.

"Hmm, I can't decide if I want a bag of chili cheese Fritos or a bag of Doritos. What do you think?"

Denki looked over and saw the smile of a familiar girl. Her e/c eyes gazed into his honey and he smiled back at her.
