Good Morning, Pikachu

Slowly stirring awake Y/N feels something different underneath her. It doesn't feel like her bed and she can feel it slowly rising and falling beneath her head. Almost, like what she slept on was a person. She opens her eyes and looks down as she does indeed see a chest beneath her. She raises her head and sees Denki's sleeping face. She smiles as she takes close inspection. She sees a few light freckles that dust his cheeks, and there seems to a small line of drool hanging from his mouth. Even with the drool, he was adorable.

She moves to raise but the arms that have been wrapped around her waist are tightened. She looks over to the table and sees her phone. Y/N grabs the device carefully trying to not make too much movement. Looking at the screen it appears to be nine in the morning. She still has a few hours before she is supposed to meet up with Shinso.

As she continues to lay in the blonde's peaceful arms Y/N debates what she should do. She and Denki had gotten much closer yesterday evening. They had been somewhat intimate a couple of times. So, what does that mean? She likes him, but now she's confused because Shinso had dropped a bomb on her yesterday. They've never even kissed, but the fact she felt this conflicted over him and Denki suggested there might be feelings she hadn't realized. Shinso has always been there for her, and she enjoyed spending time with him. Was there another laying of feelings hidden in the joy she felt around him?

Looking back at Denki's sleeping face she felt slightly guilty. They've made no commitment to the other, but here she was thinking about someone else while he held her in his sleep. Deciding that she wasn't going to find an answer at that moment she started playing with blondes hair. As she twirls a lock in her finger she notices his eyes starting to open.

"Good Morning, Pikachu," she lightly hummed.

Denki opens his eyes and smiles at the girl laying on top of him. He had also forgotten where he fell asleep last night, but he was by no means disappointed. He wouldn't mind waking up to Y/N's pretty face every morning.

"Morning, Sunshine. What time is it?" he groggily asks.

"It's a little after nine. Do you need to get home or do you want some breakfast before you leave?"

Making breakfast was one of Y/N's favorite things to do. It could be so versatile and she often made it for dinner.

Denki smiles at the h/c hair girl as he responds.

"Breakfast sounds great. My dad is out of town on a trip and my mom was working a double shift at her work. So, no one knew I was even gone. If mom comes home now she'll think I just left early this morning."

Satisfied with his answer Y/N made her way to the kitchen to make French toast. She pulls out the necessary supplies and starts to heat a pan with butter. Beating a bowl with eggs she hears Denki ask a question.

"So, what are you doing today? I know they said we get two days off to recover from the festival."

Y/N wasn't sure if she should mention her plans with the purple-haired teen. Denki had gotten a bit jealous of the time she spent with him yesterday, but she also didn't want to lie to him either.

She placed a batter soaked piece of bread into the pan while she turned bacon that was in the pan adjacent.

"Well, I don't have a lot planned. I'm going to catch up on school work. The festival hasn't given me a lot of time to study lately, but I'll probably dedicate that to tomorrow. Today, I have plans to meet up with Shinso."

She looked nervously at the blonde sitting at the table in the kitchen. He didn't look upset, but she couldn't read minds either.

"That sounds productive. What are you doing with the general studies guy?"

Denki was curious and slightly agitated. She was cooking him breakfast, but the majority of her day seemed to be taken by Shinso. He was debating on whether to ask her to date him exclusively today, but he knows he came off as jealous yesterday. Which was the truth, but it meant if he asked now it would seem like a play for dominance. He wanted her to know he was serious and not acting on raw emotion. His question would need to wait another day.

"I don't know what we're doing yet. He only asked if I wanted to hang out."

Looking at Denki's face she could tell he felt bothered by the situation. She flipped the french toast and starting pulling the bacon from the pan.

"Do you want to study with me tomorrow?"

Looking over at the h/c haired girl Denki felt his mood lighten slightly. He was glad to see that she was making an effort to spend more time with him.

"That's a great idea, Sunshine. I could use the help honestly," he places his hand on the back of his neck looking slightly embarrassed.

"I'm not the best student after all."

Y/N furrowed her brows towards the blonde as she handed him a plate of food.

"I wish you wouldn't do that."

Denki replied with a confused look on his face.

"Do what?"

"You lose all confidence in yourself when you mention studying and school. I know that others have made you believe you can't do better but it's not true. Remember what I said yesterday? You've given up because you've chosen to accept people's perceptions. You're not dumb, Denki. So, stop acting like you are," Y/N stated to the blonde.

Once again the electric blonde was taken by surprise by the h/c haired girl. She really could see right through him and the act he puts on. The more time he spent with Y/N the more he realized that she was the only person who could see the real Denki. He didn't have to hide who he was, and honestly, he didn't want to. He'd been hiding for so long that he had almost forgotten who the real him was anymore. He thought he had grown a split personality, and now he sees that he wasn't split down the middle, but a combination of both.

He continued eating his breakfast gazing at the girl in front of him as she talked and ate. She smiled and he felt a warmth in his heart.

She made him whole.
