Denki had left the bar and to say he was distressed was an understatement. He didn't want to do this. He didn't want to put Y/N into any kind of danger.

"SHIT!"

He continued walking down the street and he turned down an alleyway. He leaned against the wall and stared at the ground. He felt helpless and he felt stupid. How could he let this happen?

Denki couldn't breathe as he heard Shigaraki's words repeat in his head. He knows what will happen if he doesn't convince Y/N to join their side, but he doesn't want that for her. He doesn't want her to have the same fate as him. Her life should be normal not a fucked up mess like his.

He slides down the wall and he can feel his back scraping against it as he moves down. He doesn't care, if nothing else the stinging sensation was a reminder that he was still alive. He can feel his breaths becoming more shallow and rapid. He had started hyperventilating and if doesn't calm down quickly he's going to pass out. He tries to take deep steady breaths, but his fear is overwhelming. It's pulling him down where he can't reach the ledge to pull himself back out.

*Ring*

*Ring*

Denki pulls out his phone trying to focus on anything else when he immediately answers without looking at the caller ID.

"H-Hello?"

"Denki?"

Denki's eyes go wide and he stops breathing altogether. It was Y/N. Her voice was bittersweet. It had a calming effect on him but at the same time, he can hear Shigarakis words in the back of his mind.

"Uh, Y-yeah," he says trying to hide his panic.

"What's wrong, Pikachu?"

Fuck, he forgot she's smart. His mind was racing once again as he tried not to sound worried.

"N-Nothing's wrong, Beautiful."

There was a pause on the line and he decides he needs to speak.

"I was just thinking about you before you called. I was wondering what you were up to."

He was starting to calm himself down as he was focusing on only the voice of the person on the other side of the line.

"Well, I was thinking that we could over our pro hero offers for our internship. We have to turn them into Mr. Aizawa tomorrow."

Denki took another deep breath. He wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms right now and this would give him an excuse to do so.

"Sunshine, I would love to-"

He realizes mid-sentence that if he sees her in person right now he would break down. As much as he wanted her comfort he knew he didn't deserve it and he let guilt wash over him. Y/N has no clue what danger she's in.

"b-but I kind of can't r-right now. My mom is home early tonight and she's making dinner. How about I call you later and you can tell me where you decided on. Okay?"

He could almost see the smile on her face as she responded.

"That's great! I know you don't get a lot of time with her. I completely understand. I have a question before I let you go."

He lets out a hmm in response.

"Since I can't meet with you is it okay if I go over to Shinso's to talk about my offers? I could just use someone's opinion, but I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

The straw-blonde wasn't thrilled with the idea, but he was the one who rejected her offer to discuss it with him. Besides he could trust her unlike her being able to trust him.
