Cutesy Bullshit

Y/N sat on the bus with Denki as they made their way to camp. Y/N was listening to the talk around them as they made guesses as to where they were going. She feels a poke on her arm and looks over to Denki. He smiles and offers a piece of candy to her. She gladly takes the airhead and rips open the package.

"I'm glad we have snacks."

Denki wraps his arm around Y/N's shoulders and she cuddles into his side.

"You're a pretty tasty snack."

She rolls her eyes at the blonde, but he decides to take his statement further.

"If I feed you candy do you become even sweeter than you already are?"

She facepalms into her hand.

"How long do you spend coming up with cheesy lines like that?"

The blonde smirks and shrugs his shoulders.

"It's a natural talent."

She shook her head in disbelief as she took another bite of her airhead. As she chews the sweet she felt Denki grab her hand with the remaining candy and watched him pull it up to his mouth to take a bite.

"Did I say you could have a bite?"

Denki looks at her and kisses her on the cheek.

"I gave you the candy and it's my right as your boyfriend."

Just as Y/n was about to respond Bakugo interrupts them.

"Could you fucking stop? You two idiots are disgusting. I'm tired of listening to all of your couple bullshit."

Y/N's eyes widen in fear. The angry blonde was intimidating and she didn't want to be on the receiving end of one of his explosions. Denki on the other hand has lots of experience handling Bakugo. He simply smirks at his friend and replies.

"Are you jealous, Kacchan?"

Bakugo glared intensely at Denki. It was bad enough when the nerd called him the childhood nickname. It was almost more annoying coming from Dunce Face.

"I'm not jealous of a pair of extras acting like dumbasses. I just want some fucking quiet, and it's difficult when you two are doing your cutesy bullshit."

Before the pair had a chance to respond a hand grabbed Bakugo by the shoulder and pulled him away. Kirishima popped up where the blonde had been and placed it on his neck in a nervous gesture.

"Sorry about him! Bakubro doesn't do well on long trips. He gets kind of restless and forgets his manliness."

Y/N looks at the redhead and she can tell that he often has to apologize for his friend's behavior. This wasn't the first time that she had received an apology from Kirishima for something Bakugo did or said and she knew it wouldn't be the last.

"Personally, I like how happy you make Kaminari. So, don't worry about Bakugo I'll keep him in check."

Denki had good friends. Kirishima especially she thought. She was glad that he had people that made him feel wanted. She remembered how he had told her in middle school he didn't have friends. His high school experience seemed to be completely different from his middle school. She didn't want to think what would have happened had he not made friends at UA either. A person can only take so much alienation before they do something stupid.

"Thanks, Kiri. I'm glad Denki has you."

Kirishima gave her one of his wide toothy grins and winked. He then sat back down most likely to give Bakugo a lecture on the art of manliness.

Y/N turns to the window and starts to think about the training camp. She knew it was going to be a lot of work, but in the end, the payoff would be worth the reward. She also kept having a weird feeling she hadn't felt before. Like something big was coming. The air seemed different when they were waiting to board the bus. She shook the feeling earlier assuming it was nerves. Maybe it was being around people for an extended period of time. She wasn't used to being constantly surrounded by everyone. As she continued to stare Denki caught her attention.

"Whatcha thinking about, Sunshine?"

She looked over to her boyfriend and smiled. She hadn't shared her feeling of uneasiness it wasn't bothering her that much and she didn't want to worry him.

"Just thinking about being around everyone constantly. It will be different than what I'm used to."

Denki knew instantly what her statement implied. He felt pain when he thought about how lonely she seemed at times.

"Yeah! It'll be good though! Time is going to fly by," he replies.

His statement wasn't wrong. Their time at the camp will go quickly especially once the League sets the plan in motion. Most everyone in the class will be home sooner than they think. He just wishes she had also failed her practical exam. He could keep her safe that way. He sighed internally thinking about the days to come.

"Hey Y/N?"

She looks over to the blonde who had a weird look on his face. She couldn't describe the emotion, but it wasn't typical for the upbeat blonde.

"Hmm?"

Denki looks at her inquisitive face and gave her a soft smile.

"You know you're the most important person to me, right?"

Her face turns into one of confusion.

"Yeah, I know. Are you okay, Pikachu?" she asks.

He slings his arm around her shoulder and brings her close to him. He gently kisses the top of her head.

"Yeah, I'm always good when I'm near you."

She rolls her eyes and shakes her head at his cheesy line even though deep down she loved when he said those things.

"I'm going to take a nap," Y/N states.

Just as she settled into Denki's side the bus stopped and Mr. Aizawa stood up.

"Everyone off the bus."

The class gladly shuffled off the bus to shake off their legs and prepare themselves for the rest of the ride. Little did they know that Mr. Aizawa had no intentions of letting them back onto the bus.
