They were both out like a light as soon as their heads hit the pillow. Of course as much as Meredith wanted to sleep in and remain in Derek's warm arms, the twins had other plans...breakfast....8am sharp...the rumbling started...just like clock work...it was so loud it even woke Derek up...

Derek: Holy Cow is that the twins?
Meredith: Yes...they want food...now...only I cant move a muscle...
Derek: Are you ok?
Meredith: No...I'm pooped...completely...totally...utterly...pooped...
Derek: (kisses her forehead and grins)...Hmmm...I wonder why...
Meredith: Shut up Clyde and order us some food...
Derek: (chuckles)...Yes Bonnie...coming right up...

He reached over and grabbed the phone from the night stand while Meredith refused to move from her comfy spot snuggled up next to him...he ordered some of everything on the breakfast menu...just in case...Meredith's cravings had become so unpredictable...she would ask him to make her pancakes but by the time he finished she wanted an omelette instead...

He hung up the phone and pulled her even closer...resting his chin on the top of her head...

Derek: It'll be here in 20 minutes...ok
Meredith: (frowns)...Ohhh...too long...the twins won't like that...
Derek: I'm sorry baby...I told them to put a rush on it...that's the best they can do...
Meredith: Fine...but you tell that to the twins when they go kung fu fighting on my ribcage...(sits up and looks around)...theres got to be something to eat in this palace of a suite...
Derek: (smiles)...Well...I had them stock it before we arrived...but...
Meredith: (looks down at him)...But what...
Derek: (rubs her back)...Uh...you ate it all baby...
Meredith: I did?
Derek: Except for...
Meredith: (eyes wide) The microwave popcorn...
Derek: (frowns)...Oh no baby...not for breakfast...(Meredith glares down at him)..ok...microwave popcorn coming right up...
Meredith: (smiles)...Thank you...you're a good man Mr. Shepherd...(lays back down after he hops out of bed)
Derek: (kisses her forehead)...And a smart one too...I'll be right back...

A few minutes later he returned with a bowl a hot popcorn and placed it on top of her belly after she sat up in the bed with a huge smile...

Meredith: Thanks....it smells good...
Derek: I started a nice warm bubble bath...seems like a waste to leave her without cuddling up with you in that huge tub...I'll let them set the food up in there..
Meredith: In the bathroom?
Derek: (smiles)...Why not...it's certainly big enough...we could throw a party in there...
Meredith: (sighs)...Yeah...its nice...I really love this hotel...we have to come back...
Derek: (kisses her nose)..We will...soon...I promise...
Meredith: Any more news about your parents...
Derek: Actually...I got a message from Rob...I must have slept through his call last night...or this morning...
Meredith: Yeah...I didnt hear a thing either...what did he say...
Derek: Well...apparently his people have linked up with Dr. Cook's people and they've found the village but... there was no sign of them...
Meredith: Were they even there at some point?
Derek: According to the villagers...no...but they could be lying...there were militant rebels all over the village watching every move they made...
Meredith: How are your sisters doing...
Derek: Not too good...all this is really starting to take its toll on them...I don't know how much longer they can handle it...
Meredith: (touches his cheek)..And what about you? How are you doing?
Derek: (sighs)...Really?
Meredith: (cups his face in both her hands and looks into his sad eyes)...Really...honestly...
Derek: (forces a smile)...No holding back?
Meredith: No holding back....
Derek: (sighs)... Well...I'm kind of numb right now...its like with everything going on...with my sisters hanging on by a thread...trying to keep track of all the search and rescue information...the twins on the way...and then making sure that I can be there for you...I cant really afford to feel right now...all I can do is stay hopeful until I have a definite reason not to...its hard to explain...
Meredith: (takes both his hands)...I think I get it...it sounds like you're trying to be strong for everyone...
Derek: Yeah....I guess I am...it feels like I've been the appointed one you know?
Meredith: I think so...you're a lot stronger than you thought...
Derek: (smiles softly)...I'm trying...it gets tough...
Meredith: I know it does...(kisses both of his hands)...so promise me one thing...
Derek: What's that?
Meredith: Promise me that when you cant be strong for everyone anymore...you'll let it all go...focus on taking care of Derek...and you'll let me help you...
Derek: (smiles)...I promise...(kisses her softly on the lips)...
Meredith: So...what now?
Derek: Well...the team keeps asking around...if my parents were there...eventually someone will tell...especially if it's the right price...
Meredith: So...we keep hoping...
Derek: Yes...we keep hoping...
