Chapter 202

Adelle: Well good morning! Looks like we have some guests! I thought I recognized all those cars out front.

The bright and cheefulness of her voice filled the room...they each looked up from their sleep to locate the blast of sunshine holding a tray full of food...quickly realizing that it was now morning...

Cristina: (moans)...Jeez...is she like this every morning Meredith?
George: Kind of loud...
Izzie: Mmm...I smell food...really good food...
Adelle: I said good morning! Didn't your parents teach you any manners?
Cristina: A little bitchy...Now that's more like it...
Adelle: (glares at Cristina)..Did you just call me a bitch?
Cristina: What? No...no...not at all...I was calling myself the bitch...yep...I'm a bitch...especially in the morning...
Adelle: (rolls eyes)...I can agree with that...
George: Good morning Miss Adelle...
Izzie: Hey there!
Adelle: Where's Meredith?

They quickly hopped up and looked around suddenly discovering that Meredith was no longer in bed...

Izzie: Where is she?
George: She's not here.
Adelle: Well I can see that...what did you people do with her?
Cristina: She can't be too far with that huge belly...check the bathroom...that seems to be her favorite room these days...

Adelle walked over to the master bathroom but still didn't see her...she then walked towards the door..

Adelle: She's not in there either. I'm sure she's around here somewhere...I'll go find her...
George: Whatcha got there Miss Adelle...smells yummy..
Adelle: Oh...there's a hot breakfast for you all downstairs...blueberry pancakes...bacon...eggs...hashbrowns and fresh orange juice...help yourselves...

Their eyes immediately grew wide as they stumbled over each other trying to get down stairs as fast as they could...Adelle walked down the hallway and saw the nursery door opened...Meredith was inside...sitting on the glider that Derek bought her...Adelle walked inside...put the tray down and sat down on the ottoman in front of her...lifting Meredith's feet into her lap...

Adelle: Hey...
Meredith: (sighs)...Hey..
Adelle: You should keep your feet elevated...keeps the swelling down...
Meredith: Right...I forgot...
Adelle: I heard about Derek's parents. How are you holding up?
Meredith: I miss him....
Adelle: I know...but he'll be back soon...
Meredith: He hasn't called yet...
Adelle: He will...
Meredith: Yeah...maybe he's in a bad signal area or something...
Adelle: He'll call...
Meredith: Yeah...
Adelle: Are you hungry?
Meredith: No...but the twins are...they're kicking up a storm...
Adelle: Then you should feed them....(hands her a piece of bacon)...you need to keep your strength up...(smiles)...we want to keep those babies happy...ok?
Meredith: (smiles)...Ok...
Adelle: (rubs her feet)...Everythings going to be fine...
Meredith: How are you always so sure about everything?
Adelle: (smiles)...Because...Adelle knows everything...
Meredith: But...
Adelle: Shhh...no more questions..not until after you eat...got it?
Meredith: (sighs)...Yes ma'am...

Adelle sat with Meredith and continued to rub her feet while she ate her breakfast...they were listening to the lullaby cd that Derek made for her and the babies when her cell phone rang......it was Derek...

Meredith: (smiles)...Hey...you called...

She smiled at Adelle who threw her a wink and took her empty tray downstairs...Adelle really was always right about everything...the relief in her heart suddenly escaped through her tears...

Derek: (smiles)...Of course I did...I've been trying since we landed but the circuits were busy...it was driving me nuts all day...I miss you so much baby...
Meredith: (sniffles)...I miss you too...
Derek: Don't cry Meri...I'm ok....really I am...
Meredith: I'm sorry...I just...its so good to hear your voice...but I'm fine now...
Derek: (smiles)...Its good to hear yours too baby...Let me see you...I want to make sure.
Meredith: Ok...I want to see you too...(sends each other a picture from their phones) )...How are you doing? Where are you?
Derek: (sighs)...I'm ok. We're enterring the U.S. embassy to get escorts...It was a long flight...How are the twins? They must be hungry by now?
Meredith: (smiles)...Yeah...their tummy's are like clock work....but they're ok...we all are...Adelle just made us breakfast...
Derek: Good...thank God for Adelle...
Meredith: Yeah...its strange though...I dont know how she found out about your parents but she knew...
Derek: (chuckles)..That's because Adelle knows everything...don't question the gift...
Meredith: I won't...she's taking very good care of us..I think the twins love her already...
Derek: That's really good...let me talk to them...
Meredith: Ok...(puts phone to her belly)...
Derek: Good morning my little butterflies...daddy misses you so much...be good ok and stay put...enjoy your breakfast....I love you forever...I'll see you soon...
Meredith: (smiles)...They're really kicking now...
Derek: (smiles)...Well that's because they know their daddy's voice...
Meredith: (eyes wide)...Oh my God Derek...you have to see this...
Derek: See what?
Meredith: I...just...just hold on...I'll send it to you...
Derek: (gets her first picture and smiles)...Oh here's you...you look beautiful...but you've been crying a lot...I can tell... and I'm sure you haven't slept a wink...
