Slytherin King / WBWL

Chapter 5

Third PoV:

Severus got up out of his seat at the head table and led his house down to the snake pit. He knew this year was going to be interesting with the Black heir and Potters spawn.

Once the new Snakes were at the portrait of a beautiful serpent, Snape stopped at turned to his students.

"The password is Anguis, do not forget it! Otherwise you will find yourself sleeping out here in the hallway until a prefect or another student wakes in the morning and opens the portrait hole," Snape said in his monotone voice.

All of the Slytherins nodded at their head of house and entered to the common room.

"Welcome to the common room, I make weekly visits to ensure the place is not in ruins. I will also be here every Friday night grading papers, so if you have any trouble with homework/schoolwork or have any other problems then come and see me. If you need me and it's not a Friday or the day I shall be checking the common room, then you will find me in either my classroom or office. My office is the portrait of the Slytherin crest."

Orion would have been surprised with how caring Snape was being if he hadn't been in Slytherin countless times before, where Snape was head of the house. The man really did care for his snakes, maybe even more so than any of the other houses. The difference was he had zero tolerance for students in his house bullying other Slytherins, whilst the others seemed to be rather lenient as it was their own house. Of course he shows blatant favouritism of the Slytherins but it was mainly because he knew all the other teachers and prefect were unfair to them as they were supposedly evil.

"Ok, now I expect first years to be in bed by 10, second years by 10:30, third years by 11, fourth years by 11:30, fifth years by 12, sixth years by 12:30 and seventh years by 12:45, no later. And I also expect you all to be up by any time in between
6:45-8:20 am. This is to ensure you all have sufficient rest. Breakfast starts at 7:00 and ends at 8:50 am. Classes to begin at 9 am. Do not be late! I don't tolerate tardiness or failure to put in 100% effort for all subjects. If you are lost then ask a prefect but do not turn up late, otherwise you will have detention with whoever's class you are late to or myself." Snape said.

They all nodded and let the rather intimidating man continue.

"Alright, now know this. Slytherins are cunning, ambitious and sly. I do not care if you are out after curfew, I do not care if you duel a Gryffindor in the hallways, I do not care if you charm the headmasters robes pink, so long as you do NOT get caught. If you get caught there will be serious consequences. I will be very disappointed if you get yourself caught and you best all hope it's not by me otherwise you'll find yourself in detention for a month!"

Everyone's eyes widened, they'd heard that the man was a former death eater and so they expected him to be scary but he was down right terrifying! Well that's what everyone except Orion and Draco thought, Draco as the man was his godfather and Orion as he'd been through several lives and knew the man just really cared about his Snakes.

"Now finally, as you all know, James and Lily Potter are professors this year. James has been appointed flying instructor and Lily is the Muggle studies professor. A word of advice, they are not your friends. They will give unfair punishments and dock several points for the most ridiculous of reasons. Thus why I'm not different with the other houses. If they get an advantage then so do you." Snape sneered at the thought of the Potters.

Draco, Orion and the rest of the Slytherins all openly sneered as well. They all knew how arrogant the lord and lady potter were. And heir potter. The only decent one was Jasmine but she wasn't attending until next year. She was staying with the Weasleys for the year with Ginny, who live right near the lovegoods so they'd see Luna.

"The only teacher you can trust are Professors Lupin, Kingston-Lupin, Quirrel and the Blacks. They are fair to Slytherins. Also Sprout and Flitwick aren't unfair but are wary of us so you don't need to watch out as much for them."

A Slytherin girl raised her hand.

"Yes miss?"

"Bulstrode sir, Millicent," she replied.

Snape nodded for her to continue.

"Weren't Professors Lupin and Black, the lord not lady, in Gryffindor? And professor Kingston-Lupin in Hufflepuff! How can we trust them?"

Snape sneered at the girl, "well Miss Bulstrode if you weren't a dunderhead then you'd know full well that all of those professors stayed neutral in the previous war, meaning they hold no ill intention towards the dark side and you also have the Black heir standing right behind you! I do not think that the Blacks would hate their own son, especially as his mother was a Slytherin herself and both of them are purebloods, who practice pureblood traditions and culture!"

Millicent blushed slightly, internally kicking herself for being stupid, before nodding.

"I think you owe Mr Black an apology," Snape said with an eyebrow raised.

"I-oh yeah, I-I..." she stuttered, turning to look at Orion.

"Well get on with it!" Snape snapped at the girl.

"I'm s-sorry Heir Black, I meant no offence towards to your mother and father."

Orion merely nodded once with his ice grey eyes piercing her own, causing her to flinch as the sheer coldness in them.

"Very well Heiress Bulstrode, you are forgiven but I shan't be so forgiving next time, so do ensure there isn't a next time." He stated simply.

She nodded and turned back to her head of house.

"Alright, now I've finished, please go up to your dorms and unpack. Boys on the right, girls on the left, do not try and go to each others dorms as the stairs turn into a slide. I shall see you all tomorrow morning." And with that, the dungeon bat swept out of the green and silver room.

The students all walked up to the rooms, on each side their was a long corridor with several doors. On each door was a plaque with some students names on. In the girls corridor, their was only four doors. One had three names and the other had two on. The other two doors were bathrooms. The doors were green with a sliver plaque. The first one read:

Daphne Lenora Greengrass
Bailey Tia Nott

And the second door read:

Pansy Violet Parkinson
Millicent Freya Bulstrode
Tracy Jade Davis

And in the boys corridor there was also several doors, all green with silver plaques except the bathrooms which had silver doors.

The first one read:

Orion Rigel Black II
Draco Lucius Malfoy
Theodore Nott II

The second one read:

Blaise Matteo Zabini III
Ryan Jones
Tyler Avery

And the third one read:

Vincent Crabbe II
Gregory Goyle II

All the boys except Ryan (who was a halfblood) were purebloods. None of them minded Ryan though as he practiced Wizarding culture. His father was a halfblood and mother a pureblood from the secondary line of the MacMillan's.

An: he won't be mentioned often at all, this literally might the only time not sure yet.

All the boys were happy with their dorm mates, although Blaise was a little put out not being able to room with Orion, Draco and Theo.

They all couldn't wait to wreak havoc on the school.
