Groaning with pain, she felt her whole body ache, it was burning and hurting her. But not as much anymore, she knew she was in the open when she felt wind blow her face and body.
She could feel herself floating... But wait... She wasn't. Opening her eyes, she couldn't see very well at first. But her eyes adjusted and she could see clearly now that Boruto was carrying her. They we're still in the hallway it seems.
So, he came for her after all. Y/n smiled softly but it just caused her more pain, she groaned again. Boruto looked down at her, his gaze seemed serious and mad.
But he raised his head up once again, he didn't seem like he wanted to talk now. Y/n could feel herself falling asleep again, and when they exited the school she could hear loud voices everywhere. Then she passed out.
...
When Y/n opened her eyes, she could still feel her body ache. Looking around the room she noticed she was back in her and Boruto's dorm. But not only that... She looked down to see that Boruto fell asleep, his arms and head on the bed close to her, but he was still sitting on a chair.
She smiled slightly, he was awake and here for her... By the look of dark circles under his eyes, he didn't sleep either. His face looked tired as well.
Y/n reached out to grab his hand, holding it tightly. He was very kind and sweet... He stayed up all night for her. Y/n felt like she didn't deserve it.
He deserved more than her, more than Sophie. Y/n wasn't the best option. She wasn't a ninja, she was just... Normal. But then, why did he save her?
"Y/n...?" She could hear Boruto's tired voice, his eyes seemed to want to close but he forced them open. Once he cleared his vision, his eyes that we're worried and tired we're now filled with relief.
"Y/n! You're awake!" Boruto exclaimed. She wished she was dead at this point, but I guess being awake is fine too. Y/n nodded her head. "Yes ..." She rasped. She was still filled with pain, her body ached every second. Was Flox okay?
"Is Flox fine?" Y/n asked. Boruto raised himself up, still holding her hand as he nodded. "He's fine. I was going after you, but I met Flox halfway through. He said you were trapped." Boruto explained.
Looks like Flox did go for help after all. Y/n thought she will die that night for sure. She was grateful that Flox went out to get help, if he didn't Y/n would be dead by now.
"But... How did you manage to get to me?" Y/n asked. When she was in the place, she was trapped by the fire and she looked everywhere, yet there was no way out.
"Firefighters came in right time." Boruto said, yawning. He still seemed pretty tired. It's for best that he sleeps, who knows how much days Y/n has been out?
When she was about to open her mouth, Sarada entered the room and she looked surprised but relieved when she saw Y/n. Sarada walked over to Boruto and stepped in front of him.
"Boruto, you should sleep. You've been awake for three days now." Sarada said, and Boruto only looked away angrily but said nothing. He's been awake for three days? How did he manage, Y/n couldn't even last two days. She can last one, but not two.
Boruto groaned a protest. "I'm fine!" Boruto said, looking up at Sarada. Sarada only raised her eyebrow giving him the look 'Really?'
"Go sleep, that's an order." Sarada ordered. Boruto still looked like he was about to argue back, he opened his mouth but closed it with a sigh. He must have realized how tired he is, or something.
Whatever the reason, he got up on his feet and laid down in bed, turning around so his back was facing them. It wasn't long after that they heard his deep breathing and slight snores, meaning he was asleep.
He slept pretty quick, he must have been very tired. Sarada sat in the chair that Boruto was on a few seconds ago, then she faced Y/n.
"Y/n, you've been out for three days. Boruto wouldn't leave your side since then, Sophie tried to drag him out but he refused and they had an argument." Sarada explained, opening her bag. He stayed with her all three days, day and night without sleeping? And he even argued with Sophie?
Maybe there's still chance he will realize that she's not the right person after all. But why did he stay up all night... All three nights for her? She still doubted Boruto cared for her as much as he cared for Sophie.
Y/n could see Sarada pulled out a bottle of water from her bag, then handed it to her. "Here, you must be thirsty." Sarada said.
Y/n took the bottle, then looked at Sarada. "Thank you." She blinked gratefully at her, then she raised her hand closer to her face, she tried her best to ignore the aches and burning in her body, it was almost impossible so Y/n winched in pain a little.
Drinking water, she realized how thirsty she is. When she drank half of it, she handed water back to Sarada, who took it and put it back in her bag.
The water was warm, Y/n prefered cold but, she supposed she can't take cold because something oh so bad will happen.
Y/n looked at Sarada then opened her mouth to ask. "Did everyone make it?" Sarada looked at her in surprise, then looked at the ground sadly and shook her head.
"Two students were left in the fire, when firefighters came it was too late." Sarada answered. Y/n looked away sadly. She wasn't able to save everyone, it seems. She was weak after all, she just wants to be a hero, be something.
But she's only hurting herself and the others. "Do you... Do you know what caused the fire?" Y/n asked. Sarada looked away, unsure if she should tell her or not. Why was it a big deal? Can't she just tell Y/n what's going on?
Sarada returned her gaze back on Y/n and smiled softly. "Don't worry about it." Sarada said, resting her hand on her shoulder and caressing it slightly in a friendly manner.
"Why aren't we in the hospital?" Y/n asked. There was a little hospital in school, but why wasn't she there? Sarada retired her hand, then looked away. "It burned down a little, it's a little rusty but it can be fixed." Sarada said.
And with that, she got up and left the room, closing the door behind her gently. She looked over to Boruto who was still sleeping soundly, his back turned on her.
Y/n felt weak, like she needed rescuing... She felt like she was just a small kid who wants to be a super hero but only hurts herself and gets in trouble.
She couldn't see a reason to live anymore, why was she even here? She didn't see life worth living, she was just weak and normal. She was nothing.
She could feel tear pouring down from her face, but she wiped it away it ignoring the pain. She survived this ... We'll see about next time.
