Epilogue

Y/n breathed in deeply, she wasn't sure why Lord Seventh called her, and only her without Boruto or Mitsuki. She really had no idea why she's in his office, it made no sense for only her to be there. She was now standing in front of the door and she pushed it open then walked in, she could see Naruto who looked up at her and kept a smile at his face as he watched her come closer. Y/n also saw Kawaki not far away from Naruto, he was sitting in some chair and he seemed quite bored but when he saw Y/n he became more wary.

"Y/n. I called you today for a special mission." Naruto said and Y/n was interested to know what he wanted, it's very odd to call her without her teammates. Y/n stopped in front of the desk Lord Seventh was sitting on, and she looked at his eyes. His eyes are same as Boruto's, they blue and his hair is also yellow. It's easy to tell they're father and son once you see them, but mostly everyone knows that Lord Seventh has a son. He is quite popular after all. "Yes, Lord Seventh?" Y/n asked, she knew Kawaki was looking at them both, not like he had anything else to do, but she can't look at him now and she doesn't really want to. He's still being unfriendly to her. "You will be visiting the village that I'll send you to. Since you're very fast, you will be able to do this mission. There is something wrong in that village, people disappear and it's getting weird. I'm sure you'll catch onto them, I have faith in you Y/n." Naruto explained and Y/n couldn't help but be sad a little.

She will miss Boruto and the others, and she can't just leave them like that. But she will be back in no time so it doesn't matter either way. "But I'm afraid that it will take few months. People in that village do disappear, but the problem is is that they disappear every month. So it will take you a few days to find out what's going on." Naruto continued and Y/n was now really sad. She won't see Boruto for days, she has no idea how to feel about that at all. She would really miss him, but she has to do this. She will be back and she will make it up for him, that's her promise. "Yes, I'll go to that village. At what time do I go?" Y/n asked, and she looked at Naruto again. She hoped it isn't too soon, she wants to tell Boruto about this before she goes. She wants to see him one last time before she goes away for who knows how much days.

"I'm afraid now. You can say goodbye to your friends before you go, of course." Naruto said and gave her the map, the red dot was where the village is located. Y/n took it and put it in her bag. Y/n was really sad but she tried not to show it. She nodded and turned around. Her eyes met Kawaki's and she ignored him, he probably didn't care if she goes away or not so it's no use saying goodbye to him when she knows he won't reply back. "Oh, and one more thing." Naruto called from behind and Y/n turned around, faced him once again and waited patiently. "When you come back, you'll live with Sarada and Sakura. They agreed to let you in, I'm sorry but you can't stay with us anymore. I hope you understand." Naruto said and Y/n nodded, of course she understood.

They can't keep her forever, it's just the way it is. And she will have a lot of fun with Sarada, she and Y/n are great friends after all. She's always there for her when she needs it. Y/n nodded, and once again turned around then left the hokages office. She left the building and stopped, looking around. She wasn't sure where Boruto could be, but he's probably at Thunder Burger with Inojin and Mitsuki. He told her he will be there. Y/n started running off, it wasn't long after that she reached Thunder Burger since it was close. Or maybe because she runs fast. She stepped in the restaurant and looked around, her eyes landed on Boruto who was talking with Inojin and Mitsuki with a smile on his face. When he saw her he smiled at her and waited for her to come. "Hey N/n! Came to join us?" Boruto asked and Y/n frowned a little. He didn't know what she was about to tell him, and she was sure he wouldn't be happy as well. He loves her as much as he loves him, they would miss each other.

"What's wrong?" Boruto asked, he noticed Y/n wasn't smiling back and the way she was acting was easy to notice something is wrong. His smile disappeared and he seemed a little worried but waited patiently. "Lord Seventh called me to his office." Y/n started, she sat down beside Inojin and looked at Boruto who seemed surprised, then she looked at Mitsuki who kept silent and Inojin who was listening closely. "Dad? What did he want?" Boruto asked, she could tell he grew a little suspicious but he still could see nothing wrong in it. "I'll be out on a mission." Y/n said, and Boruto became even more confused. Y/n could tell he suspects she will be out for few days or hours, not for few months. "So? You'll be back in no time, I really see nothing to worry about." Boruto said, his eyes were fixed on hers with a questionable expression. "I'll be out for few months, so we won't really see each other at all... And, I'm going right now." Y/n said and Boruto widened his eyes in surprise, then he became sad as well. She could see it in his eyes, and she felt the same way. It's not easy to stay away from someone you love.

"Don't worry Boruto, she will be back one day." Inojin said, and Mitsuki nodded. They tried to calm him down, he's always protective over Y/n so watching her go away all alone doesn't really please him. He began to trust her a little now, and he left her from time to time, he was now not as much protective as before but hearing this must break it. "But what if she gets hurt!? I mean- anything can go wrong!" Boruto said to Mitsuki and Inojin who exchanged worried glances. Inojin then looked at Boruto and said. "You don't have to worry about that, Y/n is a great ninja. You should probably go with her now, you heard her, she has to go and you don't have much time to spend together." Inojin informed, and then Boruto looked at Y/n. Y/n felt so bad, she could see worry and sadness in his gaze, she wished she doesn't have to leave him but they won't be together forever.

"Inojin is right, let's go. See you later Mitsuki, Inojin." Y/n waved at Mitsuki and Inojin. Then got up from her seat and started to walk away. She didn't look over her shoulder to see if Boruto was following or not, she left Thunder Burger and waited. A few seconds later, Boruto exited as well and he looked at her for a second. "I can't believe you're going now... And for months..." Boruto sighed and Y/n smiled at him, she leaned closer to him and hugged him. He accepted the hug and hugged her back as well, burying his face in the crook of her neck and he stood silent. "I'll miss you." Y/n whispered to him, she would really miss him. He helped her get over her depression, he was always there for her when she needed him. He was a true friend and a true boyfriend, no one can ask for someone better. She doesn't know what dangers she will face, but when she comes back she will tell him all about it. "Just please... Stay safe." Boruto whispered to her. Y/n wasn't sure can she promise that since she has no idea what she will face, but she will try her best.

"I will. I'll make it up for you when I come back fox face." Y/n pulled back and smiled at him, he smiled back as well. She will miss him a lot, but it's time to go now. Y/n kissed him on the lips, she kissed him passionately for the last time, she will miss the feeling of his lips upon hers, how every touch makes her go crazy and how his smile shines brighter than the sun. He kissed her back as well, with same passion she gave him and Y/n melted into the kiss. When he pulled away Y/n opened her eyes and she looked at him sadly. "Good luck out there Y/n!" Boruto gave her his last smile and Y/n smiled back, but she couldn't contain her tears that were now pouring down. She will really miss him, she couldn't express in words how much she will miss him. "Come on Y/n... You'll be back in few months." Boruto said and he leaned closer again and wiped away her tears with his hands. "I'm sorry... I'll just miss you a lot." Y/n said and she hugged him again. She wished he could go with her but he won't be able to of course. He did everything for her, she wanted to kill herself but he was there for her and her life couldn't be any brighter. She can't imagine a life without him.

"When you come back we will spend a lot of time together, you'll see. We will be together again, you don't need to cry." Boruto soothed her and Y/n tried to hold her tears back. She had to go now, there was no time to lose. She wished she could stay more but it's time to go. Pulling back Y/n watched him for the last time before she goes. "Goodbye Boruto." Y/n said, and she could feel another tear roll down but she wiped it away. "See you N/n." Boruto smiled back, and she looked at his appearance one last time before she disappeared and started going off to the village. This isn't a goodbye, just see you until the next time our roads cross together...
